Those books were considered scripture by Paul and the early Church. They were even in the original KJV. Protestants removed them.

Jesus didn’t write a book, he started a Church. His Church wrote and compiled his teachings with the guidance of the Holy Spirit. For 2000 years the apostles and their successors have protected these teachings. Jesus promised to be with them always and he is.
