    What are Kyana and Qnume?

Alright, I figured it out and got it moved. Aren't these somewhat different from ousia and hypostasis though? I've been told they are. And I would still like to know how the terms "kyana" and "Qnume" differ between how the Church of the East uses it, and how Syriac Orthodox use it.

    What are Kyana and Qnume?

Well I think it could still technically be on topic if the terms were compared to the Eastern Orthodox view and explained how they differ from eachother, and how it is seen as right/wrong from the Orthodox perspective. I'm not really sure how to contact the mods. I don't use this forum often, I...

    kyana and qnume

How does the Assyrian Church not adhere to Nestorianism? They venerate Nestorius. What is the difference with Mar Babai? I've heard this claim once before, but would you consider Babai as having a completely different system with some influences from Nestorius, or as a continuation of Nestorius...

    kyana and qnume

I don't see any forum here for the Church of the East, unless I missed it. Are there not any knowledgeable Syriac Christians on this sub?

    What are Kyana and Qnume?

I also asked about this on the Oriental Orthodox page and haven't had any replies yet. I have heard that some Syriac Oriental Orthodox use the terms "Kyana" and "Qnume" rather than Greek terms like hypostasis, physis, ousia, and prosopon. But I have also heard that the Church of the East uses...

    kyana and qnume

Hello, I don't know much about Oriental Orthodoxy, but I have heard that some Oriental Orthodox use the terms "Kyana" and "Qnume" rather than Greek terms like hypostasis, physis, and prosopon. But I have also heard that the Church of the East uses these same terms in their theology. Is there...

Why is pleasure bad? Why do we suffer?

I didn't find your answers satisfying, so I went to my priest for the first time in months, and I think I've actually gotten some good answers. I'm sorry if I've offended you at all, please forgive me for my sinfulness and please pray for me. You are right, I need to suffer more, though I hate it.

I guess I'm going to hell.

Why is pleasure bad? Why do we suffer?

What if there is a care you have that is the very reason you believe in God in the first place? To put it in its proper place in God would paradoxically threaten your belief in God completely, while to ignore it is to threaten your relationship and faith in God. Is there some third option where...

Why is pleasure bad? Why do we suffer?

Thats a fair point. I guess the question is more that, it seems that while God expects us to change everything about ourselves around him, we don't have any similar expectation of God to change or help us in our life with personal desires or pleasures or anything that sets us apart as us. We are...

Why is pleasure bad? Why do we suffer?

I have a somewhat related question that's bothering me. Since God is unchanging, how can we have a relationship with him? We cannot change God, so doesn't that mean that we cannot affect God in a relationship? If we cannot have pleasures, desires, will, or self, but are supposed to find those...

Why is pleasure bad? Why do we suffer?

So there is no pleasure in heaven? Then why should I care about it? If God is dispassionate, shouldn't I be dispassionate about God?

Why is pleasure bad? Why do we suffer?

I don't want to suffer. How do I desire suffering?

Why is pleasure bad? Why do we suffer?

How does pleasure and suffering relate to patience? I don't feel like I have enough patience to suffer through this life.

Why is pleasure bad? Why do we suffer?

Why is pleasure bad? Why should we have to suffer? Why does getting closer to God bring more suffering rather than more pleasure? God sends pain and affliction, but when is there ever any rest?

    Real distinction without composition?

I know I'm overcomplicating it, but this is incredibly important for me, so a simple answer like that is never going to satisfy me. It may sound stupid, but the way it relates to things personal to me, I have had all sorts of issues because of it that I cannot ignore. It's fine if it is too much...

    Real distinction without composition?

Everything about it! I don't know what it is. I know there are hypostatic properties like begotten, spirated, and uncaused cause, but is there a hypostatic property of human personhood, or would it differ for each human person? What would that even mean? And hypostatic properties are still just...

    Real distinction without composition?

I don't really see how that has answered my questions. I think I'll end the conversation here, I could go on asking questions forever. Thank you, I do appreciate your answers father, I do have a better grasp of the essence energy distinction, though I think personhood is still difficult for me.
