    Baptism and Holy Spirit

Hi I know Jesus will baptize me with the Holy Spirit once I put my faith in him for all that he did for me. But in Acts 2:38 we are commanded to receive the Holy Spirit through baptism. Why is this so?

Because God gave them the freedom of choice. So isnt God indirectly responsible for their wrongdoing?

    Free choice

That's because God dictates that there must be punishment for choosing evil. But since he allowed us that freedom why must we be punished for it?

    Free choice

There's where you are wrong. Lucifer and his angels were all created perfect in all ways and yet they were still capable of choosing evil or good. it's their choice that led to their future ultimate doom. Since mankind is fallen we do not have free will. If our nature is wicked our will will...

    Free choice

Since God gave men freedom in choice why should he punish them when they choose to do wrong and to condemn them to hell for all eternity. It's not like men asked God for it.

How do I forgive someone who beat me up

True but suffering is a double edged sword. It can turn some to God and others to bitterness especially if they are pushed to the extreme.

How do I forgive someone who beat me up

It's 2 different things to suffer for Christ and suffer as a result of autism. I have been persecuted before for my zeal in giving out tracks and invite all my classmates to church. None of those persecution bother me at all. In fact I had joy in my heart. But how is it one is suffering for...

How do I forgive someone who beat me up

sight...why would a all-loving God allow someone with mental retardation to be beaten up? So one can exercise the practice of forgiveness? As though Aspies do not have enough struggles of their own.

    Heaven for aspies

Do you think they look forward to heaven? Sure it's better than hell but the description of heavenly events in Revelation about the loud trumpets, Angelic singing and worship can easily cause a meltdown in any aspies. They couldn't even endure a day let alone eternity.

Is this the best verse to prove Jesus is God?

Many Muslims like to trap Christians by asking if Jesus is the son of God where in the bible does he say that? Is Matt 4:7 the best verse to answer that? The word "God" in verse 7, is it in reference to Jesus or to the Father? If it's to Jesus we have a clear winner. Your thoughts? 1Then was...

Would the history of mankind be different if Job or Noah was the first man?

True, but please bear in mind mankind was already fallen by the time they came into existence. They had already inherited the sinful nature (thus they were expected to sin at some point) from Adam's sin. But if they were in their perfection condition like Adam (before his downfall) could there...

Would the history of mankind be different if Job or Noah was the first man?

The bible describes them as righteous and God fearing. Job endured temptation many times more potent than just restraining from eating an apple. Would mankind still be in perfection if either one of them was the 1st man on earth?

Was God unfair to punish Pharaoh for Abraham's deceit?

Thanks, now I realized men will only take action and do the necessary when in pain or in some sort of trouble. If God did not do what he did, things could have gotten worse. Pharaoh's heart would only get hardened and possibly kill Abraham for his deception. Though the 2 Pharaohs in Gen and...

Was God unfair to punish Pharaoh for Abraham's deceit?

It was a half truth. She was his half sister and wife. Abraham didn't tell the full truth. After marrying Sarah, it would be natural for one to expect him to call Sarah his wife instead of sister. So yes there is the intention to deceive.

Was God unfair to punish Pharaoh for Abraham's deceit?

Genesis 12:10–20 Pharaoh provided food and lodging to Abraham's family and yet his household had to suffer physical ailment on account on Abraham's lie. What is your thoughts on this? Is there a good explanation for this?

Thank you for your reply. Those subtle differences in wording are due to copyright issue. Yes they do not change the meaning of the text but it's important they substitute the original words with a closely related one. If they keep changing words (copyright issue again) here and there in the...
