New Commentaries on Apocalypse and Daniel

Yes, thank you. there are also 42 generations (Matthews gospel) between Abraham and Christ (3x14) and when the tabernacle was dedicated the tribes each brought gifts weighing 2520 shekels (2 x1260) and there were 42 campsites in the wilderness before reaching the promised land.

New Commentaries on Apocalypse and Daniel

The rainbow (of Rev 10 Rainbow Angel) is highly significant. It was the covenant sign of mercy appointed (not made) after the flood waters "abated" after 150 days (5 months). Revelation 9 refers to 5 months of torment and both Josephus and Daniel refer to a "flood/overflowing" of destruction...

The Tea, the Jew, and the Cake: Guilty on Three Charges

Just re-read your story. It is quite amusing how people can deliberately misunderstand and misinterpret and then think that they are scoring a point (LOL). The bit about Jesus being a "thief" and God condemning stealing is a case of reading comprehension 101. Jesus says "like a thief" so it is...

New Commentaries on Apocalypse and Daniel

I am glad that you are enjoying it. When one does so much work over such a long period you often begin to doubt if it is worthwhile - after all there are so many commentaries out there and some of them are very good. The Samaritan woman "pattern" is interesting particularly the remark that the...

The Tea, the Jew, and the Cake: Guilty on Three Charges

The narrative about the man "born blind" drives the point home: John 9:29 We know that God spake unto Moses: as for this fellow, we know not from whence he is. John 9:39 39 And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might...

    End of Days?

Hello, Some things are beyond our ken. For example light is both a wave and a particle (in Quantum physics). The question scientist asked was how does "light" chose to be either a wave or a particle? It was thought that the "observer" somehow influenced the outcome (LOL). New experiments have...

New Commentaries on Apocalypse and Daniel

May I suggest to any readers that they begin with the "abstracts" on the home page. These are two PDF downloads (9 pages Apocalypse 4 pages Daniel) they will give a bit of an "overview" as the Apocalypse commentary is about 700 pages and Daniel about 560 pages.

New Commentaries on Apocalypse and Daniel

Hi, The animation and the "intro" that shows after 15 sec delay are all the same page (the "intro" is hidden at first). The first page (animation+intro) contains some PDF downloads and should work properly.....I would be concerned if it did not. It was tested in different browsers etc. Once you...

New Commentaries on Apocalypse and Daniel

Well the only similar one I can find online is the Apple iPad Pro 12.9" (inch) which is 2732px screen width which is pretty big. No flash used at all...it is all CSS transformations that are browser based but once you get off the front page to the Table of Contents etc you should have no prblems.

That should read....perhaps I have not uploaded the style sheet (i.e. forgotten a sheet). What screen size do you have and what page did you look at? I will try to mimic it using the Firefox responsive tool or an online tool.

New Commentaries on Apocalypse and Daniel

Hi, The CSS is meant to automatically resize for different screens and I have tested it to make sure it is responsive. The chapters themselves can zoom to 150% or shrink to 75% and can be downloaded as PDF's. It should work on an iPad but it depends what model you have....if it is really...

New Commentaries on Apocalypse and Daniel

Greetings fellow travelers, I would like to present two Commentaries released online last week and invite your feedback, debate and criticism. They are the product of thirty years work and I believe that they offer new insights into these important biblical books. On the "index" page you will...

'Heretics' -- Different Definition for Catholics and Orthodox versus Protestants?

Hello, Hope that this is going to Paidiske. I am new to the website and am finding it difficult to contact anyone directly. As Padiske seems friendly towards heretics and is a staff member I wondered if she could help a fellow Aussie start a new thread? Don't forget I am rather hopeless at this,

The Tea, the Jew, and the Cake: Guilty on Three Charges

Interesting story. Jesus deliberately made the remark about "eating his flesh and drinking his blood" knowing full well that it would be deliberately misinterpreted. It was a "hard saying" and many of his followers left him on that occasion because (in their view) he had gone to far. I suppose...

Good credo to live by: "Know what you believe. Don't just accept what you are told, search the Scriptures yourself". Acts 17:11 I wonder how many actually do that?
