    An update on Cancer

Hello all, Not been here in a while and thought I would give you a (brief) update on things. Andrea had her first chemotherapy session 2 weeks ago. Today her hair has started to fall out and so she's pretty distraught as am I. She's been told that unless she has terminal cancer then she won't...

    Blog advice

Afternoon brothers & sisters, Andrea wants to start a blog to share her journey through cancer treatment, and I have zero clue what's involved. Seems that wordpress is "the tool" and then I need a hosting solution. Does anyone blog, and if so could you give me an idiots guide in non technical...

    Good morning friends

Just a wee update - There are amazing things happening. I had a very unexpected experience last night in the middle of tea, and my heart is becoming softened. I realise that I've confused Christianity with doctrine but for 30 years missed the message of love. I feel so raw and tender inside...

    Backing Off

Dear friends, I've had too much time on my hands today and got involved in some messy posts (on other forums not this one) and I'm very upset with the state of my life. My sins are piled to heaven, I'm full of hatred for some others, bitterness, anger, defensiveness....you name it. There's no...

To DW1980 and an apology to the homosexual community

DW1980 got the best of my shotgun of truth about being gay and a Christian today. Both barrels....dripping with sarcasm and full of hate. I want to apologise. I have hated homosexuals for years and seen them as nothing but dirt - enemies of Christ and fit for nothing but hell. I was sitting...

Well that's prompted something - your character as you see it

You know my semi tongue in cheek post about the main forums got me thinking and I'd like to ask : I've had nothing but acceptance, love and encouragement since I came to this forum (so far!). Why is that? Do you think that your particular faith walk in Orthodoxy has cultivated that in you? Or...

Dear GOD I've learned a valuable lesson today

....stay away from a lot of the other forums lol. I've decided to post and reply to a few topics that took my interest.....the level of endless argument, debate, point scoring....I've even had to start using the block button. I feel like I've gone 10 rounds with Mike Tyson (when he was at his...

    I'm saddened

Reading over some of the other threads on the TAW forum here just for something to do in the hopes I may learn something from you all. ...and it seems there's been drama aplenty and people leaving / thinking of leaving but sticking around in the hopes of helping an enquirer like myself...

    Calling a man "Father"

Jesus says we're to call no man Father - how does this reconcile with e.g. Father Seraphim? I see a contradiction, but I'm open to hearing a perspective I've not considered before. Thanks ~David

    When are you "saved"?

I have loads of questions. The first one I'd like to throw out there is - as the title says - when as a "TAW'er" do you consider yourself to have moved from "the old man, dead in sin and with the sin nature" into the "regenerated man with life in Christ, seated with Him in the heavenlies" and...

Could someone point me to some lay mans reading so that I can understand it? What drew you to this way?

    Bad news about cancer

Hi brothers and sisters, I'm afraid we got the results today and my wife has breast cancer. She goes into hospital for a preliminary operation on 20th Dec - our 4th wedding anniversary. Then more tests will determine if it's solvable with radiotherapy or if more aggressive chemotherapy etc...

    Hello from rainy old Ireland

Serataru here or as I'm really known - David. I chose my forum name from a character I play in an online MMO. I'm *almost* 50....but not quite. Married to a wonderful lady called Andrea. We both live in Belfast in the North of Ireland. I've been a Christian for many years and Andrea just...

Please pray for a wife facing cancer test

Greetings Brothers & Sisters, This is my first post here, so I apologize for my first post asking for prayer. Long story short my poor wife found a lump on Sunday evening and went to the docs yesterday morning. She's been referred immediately for tests this Thursday for possible breast cancer...
