    What is True Orthodoxy?

Well that's a very long and serious discussion. The Old Calendarists such as myself would say that the 1/3rd of ROCOR who remained at the time of union had simply fallen into heresy. The remaining ROCOR (ROCA/ROCiE, ROCOR (A) and so forth) fractured into a handful of different jurisdictions...

    What is True Orthodoxy?

Fr Seraphim was sympathetic to both sides. Which was perhaps his biggest flaw IMO, but before ROCOR stated that the Moscow Patriarchate was graceless in '83, he was taken away from us. Which I think was a blessing to him.

Father you make a lot of arguments "from authority", and because you are a priest, you don't really have to back them up because people here just assume you're right. But since it's so very upsetting, I'll delete all my comments on this thread save this one, and let it be.

Yup. You could call it an encounter with the Holy Spirit.

My last name is Voss. I was an Old Catholic priest, resigned. Was to be received in rank by a former bishop of the Milan Synod, but realized not only was that not the way to go, but he was an ecumenist. I'm now with the Avlona synod, and a Subdeacon. I'm sure you can google the rest if you want.

Public School Kids Traumatized By Russian Liturgical Music

Believe me, and my wife will attest, I had to bite my tongue!

    What is True Orthodoxy?

Fr Seraphim said in his book "Orthodoxy and the Religion of the Future" who he thought were the "True Orthodox". "Many of them follow the bishops of the few Orthodox jurisdictions that have taken strong stands against the apostasy of our times: the Catacomb Church of Russia, the Russian Church...

Public School Kids Traumatized By Russian Liturgical Music

I took a Pentecostal friend of mine and his wife to visit a monastery. He grew up Roman Catholic and hated all things Catholic. He spent the entire time mocking everything inside and out in a low voice, making obscene gestures with inanimate objects, and whenever his poor wife (a Buddhist)...

Patriarchs Meletios IV and Athenagoras I never condemned or excommunicated?

Probably a forgery, like the Protocols of Zion. Freemasons, specifically the run-of-the-mill old fogeys you see in Anytown, USA, tend to be rather less malicious than most conspirators want to believe. They are basically the worlds foremost Ecumenists. They aren't calling for an end to any...

Patriarchs Meletios IV and Athenagoras I never condemned or excommunicated?

It is not necessary to condemn a heretic by name in a formal council in order to recognize one as a heretic.

So are the Mason rituals. And they've been in print for over a hundred years. That's the same for a typical Masonic meeting anywhere in the USA. But I will always raise my voice against Freemasonry.

Met. Joseph doesn't seem to mind praying with heretics.

That "Patriarch" Kirill and the entire MP are graceless heretics. But I'm sure you know that since ROCOR already said so at least two dozen times.

St Paul expressing feelings is quite different than trying to discover the truth by them. If feelings determined truth, you should talk to the Mormons. That's their gig.

If violating the canons of the church is necessary to be an instrument for God, then it is not God's instrument you have become. What better witness to the truth, than to follow it?

I hate to say this, but since when did anyone's feelings matter?

Met. Joseph doesn't seem to mind praying with heretics.

Coming from someone who in the past 12 months has gone through two or three different religions and at least three churches, I'm sure you'll understand why I don't take your rebuke seriously.

I know you tend to be a more conservative priest, and I'm glad for that. Patriarch Kirill of the MP seems to think it's totally ok, but of course I strongly disagree. Metropolitan Kirill believes Orthodox Christians can pray before pan-Christian shrines in non-Orthodox churches - News »...

So Fr. Matt, would you let one of your parishioners attend a Lutheran wedding? What about a Roman Catholic baptism? Just trying to gauge your level of concern when dealing with Ecumenism.

I don't remember reading those qualifiers in the canons. Could you provide your source for that statement?
