The Bible is not a Catechetical Book!

In this world of "arrogant human gods", where so many of think we're right about our chosen doctrines (which are mostly, if not all, beliefs), how will we know who's right? The Christian vs Christian battle continues....

    Who Is Jesus?

Well, that's the thing about beliefs. They are so powerful that they often masquerade as knowledge. And if there is one thing we all have....it's belief. So I will let God be the Judge in the end, because humans often confuse me on matters pertaining to Him.

    What is L.O.V.E.? (Matthew 22:36-40)

No. You've made yourself clear. For you, love is not 100% based on emotion. So effectively, if you are doing any or all of the things mentioned in 1 Corinthians 13 about biblical love, you, specifically, are NOT doing them out of an emotion of caring. You just love out of obedience. You don't...

Is love an emotion of pleasure for you or pain or both?

    Who Is Jesus?

No offense, truly. I'm just not gonna rely on a human explanation on this. There is TOO MUCH confusion on it. One church says one thing, one church says another. Again, who's got clarity on it?

    What is L.O.V.E.? (Matthew 22:36-40)

So we are not saved based on how God felt about us?

    What is L.O.V.E.? (Matthew 22:36-40)

So, in other words, we go from emotions that drive our obedience to emotions that result in our obedience?

    What is L.O.V.E.? (Matthew 22:36-40)

If biblical love is not done out of emotion, but out of obedience, then why do "you" obey? Do you obey Christ Jesus because of how you feel about Christ Jesus?

    What is L.O.V.E.? (Matthew 22:36-40)

    1. When you love others, do you do it because of how you feel about Christ, whom you are obeying? 2. If you believe that all humans are sinners according to scripture, then don't you know all humans on that level as a sinner? 3. If you are related to your fellow human sinners in that you also...

    Who Is Jesus?

For now, yes. It's confusing and I think I'm beginning to understand why. So many Christians with so many opposing views on Christianity, who's got clarity on this? Therefore, I will cast this care upon the Lord Jesus and leave this alone. That is all.

    What is L.O.V.E.? (Matthew 22:36-40)

Hey, thanks for responding. So would how you treat someone be based on how you feel about treating someone? For instance, would you treat someone you know well, whom you don't know, because of someone you do know?

    Who Is Jesus?

You just proved my point in your own words... "I know what I believe." And you have a reason for that belief. My explanation may confuse you. As, from your words, it appears they have. You have an understanding from your perspective, I have it from mine. The important thing is.... We both...

    Who Is Jesus?

The best way to understand the Trinity is to ask the Trinity.

    Who Is Jesus?

Another perspective. Me, my father and my mother are all human. The human is our relative species. Father, Son and Holy Spirit are all God. God is their relative "species". But again, that may not make sense to you, so going to God for clarity is best.

    Who Is Jesus?

Have you ever considered the duality of perspective? That both perspectives are true, it just depends on how you look at it? For instance, look at this statement.... "Nothing is impossible." This perspective sees that no thing is impossible to (do, think, manifest, believe, achieve, etc.)...

    What is L.O.V.E.? (Matthew 22:36-40)

Zoey, how 'bout this for a verb....? "Love is caring deeply, passionately and affectionately for someone or something based on some form of attraction or relational connection."
