Even the Faithful are Warned to Remain Faithful

Ephesians and Colossians were written to the “faithful” believers, NOT to the unfaithful ones! For anyone to assume that all believers sitting in churches are living faithful lives (e.g. not habitually sinning) is ridiculous! This is NOT the case today, and IMO, it was NOT the case back then...

Jesus “knows” those who love and obey Him

Gee whiz, Bill, His knowing is good enough for me! Did I ever say differently? Maybe you're in the wrong thread. Dis thread is NOT about losing your salvation. Dis thread is only about hearing Jesus' voice and following Him. Which are 2 things all BACs should be VERY aware of.

Jesus “knows” those who love and obey Him

Yes, and knowing Him requires a personal relationship where we get to hear His voice (and follow/obey Him) as stated in John 10:27.

Jesus “knows” those who love and obey Him

Of course, so it all comes down to WHO His sheep really are! E.G. His sheep hear His voice, and they follow (i.e. obey) Him. Heads Up, everyone Get closer and closer to Jesus ... until you hear His voice. This is the real knowing Him ... which is referenced in: John 10:27, John 17:3, etc.

Jesus “knows” those who love and obey Him

Unfortunately, most BACs have no understanding of what "believe" in the NT really means! I don't care what the so-called scholars say, what they say the NT "pisteuo" means, etc. The NT is very clear as to what kind of continuing and enduring belief and faith is actually required. (Ref: dozens...

Jesus “knows” those who love and obey Him

The following quote applies to some of the verses below. (Vine doesn't make it clear to me exactly which verses.) “… here the ‘knowing’ suggests approval and bears the meaning ‘to be approved’ ” (Vine’s Expository Dictionary of Biblical Words) “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God …”...

"He who practices righteousness is righteous" (1 John 3:7)

The NT repeatedly teaches that salvation can be lost via several different ways. Thus, God's initial grace towards the repentant sinner may NOT continue ... it depends on how His grace is received and continued. Just E.G. ... Many verses state that one's faith MUST ENDURE until the end of life...

"He who practices righteousness is righteous" (1 John 3:7)

Yes, this is a good way to view the truth of the situation. Salvation is a co-operative effort between God and the BAC.

Hey BH, how can you help a guy (like #52) who doesn't understand what "IF" means? IF you ever figure it out, please let us know.

"He who practices righteousness is righteous" (1 John 3:7)

No, in almost every case, God's Spirit came UPON them. Twice in the OT, I've seen a prophet saying He was INSIDE, butski perhaps he was mistaken ... for t'was usually UPON.

"He who practices righteousness is righteous" (1 John 3:7)

For those who would like to know who an "overcomer" is, please read Jesus's definition ... "To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne." (Revelation 3:21) What did Jesus overcome while in an earthly body? ...

"He who practices righteousness is righteous" (1 John 3:7)

Da foist proof of da red is the dozen or so NT verses, which teach us about the necessity of enduring (in the faith, etc.) to the end of life ... for one to be saved!

"He who practices righteousness is righteous" (1 John 3:7)

Dis is another one of my favorite passages ... Galatians 5:1-4 (NKJV) “Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us (BACs) free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage … You (BACs) have become estranged from Christ … you (BACs) have fallen from grace.” To...

"He who practices righteousness is righteous" (1 John 3:7)

Level 3's belief/faith is a gift almost exclusively possessed only by those whom Jesus has baptized with the Holy Spirit. (There are 9 of these spiritual power gifts described in 1 Cor 12). Do you personally know anyone who has any of these 9?

"He who practices righteousness is righteous" (1 John 3:7)

Surely, no one here believes that God controls everyone's destiny! Because we most definitely have free will. Because God didn't create no robots here, hear? Because God doesn't want to be worshipped by robots. etc.

"He who practices righteousness is righteous" (1 John 3:7)

I can give you about 10 NT verses/passages stating that ... one must endure (in faith, etc.) to the end (of life) to be saved. Iz dis what you call works-salvation ... dis "enduring"? Sure, the Holy Spirit is helping BACs to do this, but said BACs must co-operate and do it. Or, does the Triune...

"He who practices righteousness is righteous" (1 John 3:7)

Level 1 -- strictly intellectual Level 2 -- deeply heart-felt unto being born-again Level 3 -- possessing the spiritual power gift of faith (1 Cor 12) (This faith is far beyond what the normal BAC has!)

"He who practices righteousness is righteous" (1 John 3:7)

Please try to see what "believes" in verses such as John 3:16 actually means. From many NT verses, we should see that ... True saving belief includes enduring (until death) belief, trust, obedience, etc.
