GOP fundraisers promote violence against Joe Biden. Biden bashing encouraged with baseball bats provided! Are republicans nothing but thugs?

An effigy is not a real person. Biden was not beaten. It's distasteful, not deplorable. Definitely not something to get all upset over. I hear about this and think, "that is distasteful." And then I move on with my life. No pearls have been clutched.

The end times king. Should we really be worried about some new world order with a one world government happening?

Ok fine. But in an earlier post I pointed out that the word antichrist is only found in 1 and 2 John. The word is defined in 2 John. It does not match the characteristics given to "the antichrist". I just want to know how the title of antichrist is applied to the guy in Daniel and 2...

The end times king. Should we really be worried about some new world order with a one world government happening?

How awfully judgy of you to assume about me. I would expect if one says that the antichrist claims to be Christ, then that person would be able to point me to the verse that says it. I read all your posted verses and they don't say what you claimed. Daniel 9:26 and 2 Thessolonians 2:4 do not...

The end times king. Should we really be worried about some new world order with a one world government happening?

Can I ask, where do you go to read that the antichrist claims to be Christ? I do a lot of studying and am having trouble with that.

The end times king. Should we really be worried about some new world order with a one world government happening?

Has it been the last hour for almost 2 thousand years? Did John's letter even matter to the audience of his day? 1 and 2 John are the only places in the entire Bible to use the word "antichrist". Why don't they match the description of "the antichrist" given by end times folks? How are you able...

    Blasphemous Clothing??

It breaks the 2nd commandment. It also makes a mockery of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and his name. It's blasphemous and is a sin.

Dispensationalism - simply a means to an end

Thanks bpplee. I asked and you provided. So I will concede that there was at least some premillenialism going on in the early church. However, after reading the link you provided and doing some rabbit trailing, it seems that it wasn't the dominant view point at the time. The evidence seems to be...

Dispensationalism - simply a means to an end

I think that subject would derail this thread. Why is asking who taught it before the father of dispensationalism an issue? Nobody is answering that. And again, How does it free people from private interpretation and traditional practices that are no longer applicable?

Dispensationalism - simply a means to an end

Because it's taught in the Bible. Trinity is just the word to describe it. Who taught dispensationalism before John Darby? And why should I believe it? I would really like to know how it does what the op says.

Dispensationalism - simply a means to an end

That doesn't answer the questions. John Darby is considered the father of dispensationalism. Scofield solidified it in the US. I'm asking who taught it before Darby? How does it free people from private interpretation and traditional practices that are no longer applicable? If you or the op...

Dispensationalism - simply a means to an end

Did anyone teach dispensationalism before John Nelson Darby in the 1800s? Also, how does it free people from private interpretation and traditional practices that are no longer needed?

    Day of the Lord

I think it would be helpful to know what you think the time of the gentiles is.

    Day of the Lord

Ok so how did you come to the conclusion that the fulfillment of the gentiles is at the end of history? Why can't it be the destruction of the temple, when sacrifice was put to an end? Israel was put off and gentiles were brought in. Israel was trampled by the gentiles (Rome). Also where do you...

    Day of the Lord

Jesus was talking about the destruction of the temple in Matthew 24. That happened in 70ad. Luke 21 is talking about the same thing. Verse 20 says when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then recognize her desolation is near. That happened in the first century. So one question is, Jesus...

    Day of the Lord

40 years later would have been future to them. Wouldn't what Jesus said to them be useless information if he meant 2000+ years in the future? Jesus said that generation wouldn't pass away until all those things took place. He also told them before that some standing in front of him would not...

    Day of the Lord

Matthew 24 begins with the disciples pointing out the actual temple to Jesus, which leads to the rest of the chapter. He goes on in 24:1-14 to explain the destruction of the temple and the signs to look for before it happens. 24:15-26 he's referring to Daniel who told about the coming...

    Day of the Lord

So when Jesus says something is going to happen, and then that thing happens in history, then it doesn't count? The point about the sun is that it's not literal. You've already discredited yourself as far as I'm concerned. In the other thread you and I were discussing things, you essentially...

    Day of the Lord

Well maybe I was misunderstanding you. As a postmillenial I would basically say the same thing as you. Don't believe it to be literal either.

    Day of the Lord

Do you believe the sun, moon and stars literally go dark? Or is it symbolic? Isaiah 13:10 uses the same language in reference to judgment on Babylon after they destroyed Jerusalem. Joseph's dream in Genesis 37 is about the sun, moon and stars. But they represent Israel. Point being that the...
