    Defining Modesty

I was just giving you data, I wasn't arguing against your idea. :) Yes, Vitamin A from supplements is a horrible idea. Too much vitamin A from meat sources, or supplements, can kill you. From vegetables, it won't (regardless of how much you get, I believe.)

    Defining Modesty

Just FYI, we can get D without sunlight. D3 supplements apparently work well, though there's a major study being conducted right now to compare the effectiveness. It should be finished.. this year? IIRC, some societies don't get much sun exposure, but they get their D from fish.

    Defining Modesty

Yes, leadership that's demanding and power-mad is corrupted. Collaboration should be used. However, the husband is still the leader; he makes the final decision. If there's a disagreement that can't be resolved, the woman is to submit to the husband (excluding obvious problems).

    Defining Modesty

Yes sir, I don't support nudity. I think Gen 3 is clear. What isn't clear is how much needs to be covered to not be considered nudity.

    Defining Modesty

And in the name of equality, they do away with genders entirely. I consider myself a feminist, I support equality as human beings. But that does not mean we deny gender distinctions! For example: men are naturally stronger, and I'll gladly say that to feminazi SJWs. And the man is still to lead...

    Defining Modesty

Although in marriage, the husband is still to be the head/leader. Logically, there's a necessity for someone to be the leader, and the reason is given; iirc: man was first, and the woman was deceived first. As for providing, etc... I mostly agree with you. In essence, if a woman is so...

    Defining Modesty

The problem was the way you phrased it; it came across as women being not visually stimulated. If your argument is more vs less, that's fine; and now you've referenced texts to support your idea. --------- "we're left to assume that these instructions for women on how they dress equally apply...

    Defining Modesty

Absolutely! I have the most struggle with fully clothed women that I know and like. I'm far less impacted by pictures of fully nude women (strangers.) That said, lack of clothing makes it worse; imagine if that first group went nude.

    Defining Modesty

I was referring to this statement you made: "Scripture understands that men are visually stimulated while women are spiritually stimulated." --- Your last paragraph: It's a non-sequitur. Just because men are to provide for women, etc. doesn't mean women aren't visually stimulated. Why can't...

    Defining Modesty

You said the bible makes your view clear. Show me from the bible.

    Defining Modesty

'Now Joseph was handsome in form and appearance.' /\ Spoken of a man, not a woman. Women are visually stimulated by nice looking men.

    Defining Modesty

Where do we see that scripture understands this? I'd say that both men and women are visually stimulated; Gen 39:6.

    Defining Modesty

Like the 'attire of a harlot?' ;) And aside from that, yep! Not to be crude, but most people's bodies (including the opposite gender) are not attractive; they're an eyesore. Clothing makes them beautiful.

So we don't get side-tracked any more, I'll send a response to this in PM. Well, I was going to - but I don't see how.

    Defining Modesty

The elder's wife shouldn't take God's name in vain. :\ Although this is off-topic, I feel it should be noted: Jas 2:1 My brethren, do not hold the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with partiality. Jas 2:2 For if there should come into your assembly a man with gold rings, in...

    Defining Modesty

Can the men have a low neckline?

    Defining Modesty

Although I tend to agree with you, I'm looking for scriptures or arguments based on scripture to prove one way or another. It's entirely possible that society's standards have loosened due to humanity becoming more evil, as we know will happen in the latter times. :)

    Defining Modesty

What is our dress standard? I was prompted to question this for a couple of reasons, and a major reason is I read that until 1937, it was illegal for men to be topless. Now, society in general and I think most of the church is okay with it. First, I won’t accept 1Ti 2:9 because of the context...
