    Announcement

I am not a new member but this forum is the only one I could think of to post this. I have been feeling bad for the past month so I went to the doctor who ordered multiple tests. (I have lost 30 pounds in the past month without dieting.) On Friday I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Pancreatic...

Black teen arrested for violating mall's 'no hoodie' dress code; man who defended him also detained

The policy simple forbids "inappropriate clothing" but there is no description or example of what constitutes "inappropriate." There is certainly no mention of a hoodie, which is very common attire among our youth today. By the way, this has all already been adjudicated in Nevada where just...

Black teen arrested for violating mall's 'no hoodie' dress code; man who defended him also detained

Yep. That's what I said. Yep, that's what I said. But bear in mind the predicate cause of requesting the person to leave is ambiguous and is therefore subject to scrutiny by the trier of fact.

Black teen arrested for violating mall's 'no hoodie' dress code; man who defended him also detained

The mall, even though it is open to the public, is nevertheless private property and the property owner has the right to make rules relating to the safety and security of other patrons. Once the young man was approached and he refused to comply and was asked to leave but refused to do so he was...

I guess there won't be a wall after all.

Try reading what I actually said. Usually works for me. "And they admit they only catch about 10-15% of those crossing our borders every month." "They" is CBP. If you don't like their estimates take it up with them. Again, take it up with CBP.

    Yes, decidedly so. :(

    I made no such claim.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg is an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States who is 85 years old and in very poor health. She is expected to resign (or die) before the 2020 elections.

The still have access. CBP put gates with keypads on common access points. The point is they are still on the south side of the fence without nearby protection, and fire, ambulance, and law enforcement have to drive an additional distance to reach the gates.

What part of 50 thousand didn't you understand? :)

The first picture is the new fence. About 10 feet of solid concrete topped by another 10 feet of fencing. The second picture is the old fence that has been in place for 15-20 years and is made up of steel slats positioned like partially opened venetian blinds.

We are badly in need of reform at the federal level. We need a workable guest worker program. Both parties want foreign nationals to be admitted to the US. The Republicans want cheap stoop labor and the Democrats want to register them to vote. :)

It could do worse than that. As the fence cannot go through the protected wetlands it has to be several hundred feet inland in some places which serves, at least in a couple places, to fence US farms and the farmer's homes on the south side of the fence. They sometimes have to drive several...

No. Have you considered professional help?

Yep. That border fence has really helped!

I guess there won't be a wall after all.

Yep. I didn't say "federal." Most of the wetlands and bird sanctuaries are state owned.

I would try to respond to that if it made any sense at all, but . . .

Most of the property is already owned by the government. Much of it is protected bird sanctuaries and wetlands, which create another problem for the right-of-way.

ICE/CBP caught 50,000+ illegally cross our borders every month for the last 3 months. And they admit they only catch about 10-15% of those crossing our borders every month.
