That's probably why he said "as it is to be Jesus to the people we meet." At no point did he say loving Jesus is sufficient, he even said to be like Jesus, in other words, follow his teachings.

Well, when I said living on nothing, I didn't mean in an extreme sense of third world poverty, or terrorizing a forest as Rambo, I meant generally living off the land, or having very basic needs: i.e what the first responder was talking about, tents or living in a truck.

As a recovering alcoholic, I had the same problem with music. I don't listen to music now, and avoid it. I hope i'm strong enough soon, but it's not even worth testing it. Play a game, watch a film. Lose the tunes, and lose the dope. You are better than this.
