This is a common conjecture. There is a difference between what is known as Universalism - in which all roads lead to God. What is being espoused here is that there is only one way and that is by and through Jesus Christ alone and his finished work in saving all!

Forgiving of sins quoted here is sins that have burdened you from another person directly to you. Remember the Jews were wanting to persecute the disciples. It has nothing to do with sin of our fallen nature in relation to God. Only Christ has that authority!
