    What is church "membership?"

Last post. I do appreciate every ones reply, so I'm sorry if I replied harshly. I'm not posting anymore around here for no other reason than there are just too many opinions, often conflicting. I just have to work all these things out myself. So again thanks. And bye.

    What is church "membership?"

But this is my point. Is it fair to give, attend and serve and not be told about any rules for membership? In other words, just lead a person on, use and abuse them, and get what you can out of them. What about at least a framed notice in the church that everyone cam plainly see and read...

    What is church "membership?"

No, you've got it all wrong. I was in that church for 10 yrs, very regular attendance, faithful giving and serving in the music team. The abusive pastors deem me fit to give and serve but don't deem me fit to be a member. So the next 16 yrs, goodbye church.

    Yes, of course.

    What is church "membership?"

I completely agree with all of this. In fact, I have no intention of attending any fellowship that has formal membership. It's a church, only God declares people "members" of His church. A church is not a country club.

    What is church "membership?"

Seriously guys, I would love to see any pastor tell me to be involved in a church but tell me I may or may not be considered a member. Not happening.

    What is church "membership?"

When I was told that I was not a member, it had nothing to do with my beliefs, as I wasn't even questioned about it. So that is not true at all. If churches want to have these rubbish divisions, then fine. That is their right I suppose. I also have the right to not participate in the church...

    What is church "membership?"

The other problem I have is this. Even if I did return to a local fellowship that segregated people into members and non members, I wouldn't be encouraged to be involved. All I would really do is just attend the service. I have no interest at all in participating in a fellowship that can...

    What is church "membership?"

Isn't an actual "member" simply a person who is a regular part of a church? This doesn't encourage me back to fellowship to be honest.

    What is church "membership?"

What does it mean to be a church "member?" I'm not convinced at all by this concept, to be honest and an suspicious it's a load of convoluted, man made nonsense. If you are faithfully and regularly attending a local church, faithfully supporting it financially and involved in it, aren't you...

Are End Time novels a good idea?

It is not "mocking" to engage in some critical thinking and not just blindly accept everything. In the Bible, Paul says that "all scripture" is God breathed and inspired. Do you see a major problem here? I do. At the time Paul wrote this, a "Bible" was not compiled. There were all sorts of...

Are End Time novels a good idea?

I think all these end time rapture/ antiChrist books and films are driving people AWAY from Christianity and making Christians look like fools. For decades I have been hearing about the rapture, a chip on the forehead or hand, the legendary antiChrist, one world govt etc. And as the decades...

    Millennials and church/faith

Stop trying to entice people to church and God with rubbish like modern hipster music, pizza, smoke and flashing lights and musicians that look cool with bushy beards. Don't you know how much more enticement there is out in the world? While you think you're offering something "cool", people...

    Millennials and church/faith

And why would they be? The Gospel is not a successful label that can be "marketed" like Coke, BMW etc. People see through that phony marketing. You can't make people believe. The Bible clearly says that people are either Godly or not. If people don't want to be Godly, no amount of marketing...

I am confused about the role of pastors in modern times

As someone asks me my position. I have no problem with paid ministers who work full time. And as far as what a pastor owns, that all depends. If a pastor lives entirely off the church, then there should be checks and balances and reasonable agreeable limits. If a pastor also has his own...

Are the cost of goods absolute or relative?

That is a complete cop out I'm afraid.

Are the cost of goods absolute or relative?

Unbelievable, the judgements that fly around here on CF on all manner of topics, opinions, personal lives and lifestyles etc. But I ask a very specific question in an established context and all I get is "no comment" For the record, I am not insecure about spending. But I have posted on a...

Are the cost of goods absolute or relative?

Okay. In my post, replace "extravagant" with "worldly". Same question. I'll repeat it. A lot of people here on CF would say a $600,000 house and an $80,000 car is worldly for a Christian. Is it the same if you are a Christian surgeon who can afford a lot more, or a Christian tycoon in the...
