Discussion NAR when did it go wrong, what faults can you list?

Real translations Translate and use either form of equivalency or functional equivalency. In the case of the Amplified it uses neither. It is based on the American Standard Version and as such does not represent a true translation. They may refer to the Greek and Hebrew text to add their...

    Is celebrating xmas a sin??

Not at all. The analogy of marriage does not negate the clear meaning of Hebrews 8:6. Some of the promises under the New Covenant have not been fulfilled it just as many of the promises under the old Covenant we're not fulfilled right away. In Jesus many of the promises of the Old Covenant where...

    Assembly of God and Tongues

I understand, but that is not what they are doing. They are establishing their own Doctrine based on the precedent that they see in the book of Acts. All but one of the events of baptism of the Holy Spirit indicate the tongues immediately followed the infilling. The one that doesn't say tongues...

    Assembly of God and Tongues

If Jesus didn't appreciate the Pharisees abusing the Holy Spirit but I'm sure he doesn't appreciate you abusing the name of the Holy Spirit. You should actually read 1st Corinthians 14:29-33, to see the error in your statement here. There are of course many Mysteries to God but this is not one...

As far as I understand it, Christmas was meant to replace the Roman Holiday called Saturnalia. Seems it worked! :D

    Liberal Christianity?

This depends, in my opinion, on where you actually live. In Canada liberal Christians are found in the older denominations like the United Church and the Episcopalian Church and even the Anglican Church. In the United States various also a wide variety of so-called liberal denominations. The...

Obviously not a completed Jew, therefore he would never understand the Seder in light of the reality of the New Testament.

I understood this from the get-go, but there is still no scriptural admonition to do so, especially within the context of the old Covenant which doesn't exist any longer for believers. It's your prerogative to recognize them obviously but it's not your prerogative to addvocate that everybody...

Discussion NAR when did it go wrong, what faults can you list?

First of all, the Amplified is more a paraphrase plus commentary so it is not a direct formal or functionally equivalent translation. Secondly, God did tell Jonah what to say, so Jonah can't possibly be a false prophet if God told him what to say. Thirdly, throughout the Bible, God always...

Yes it was Jesus speaking in Luke, but was Paul speaking in 1 Corinthians to Gentiles, so what exactly is your point?

    Truth or tradition/pagan holidays

You jump around using the word of God but you don't really say anything. The Oracles of God means the word of God and we all have the word of God, that doesn't mean that the Jews were meant to teach us. Read Romans 2:17-24 I wasn't claiming anything, I was refuting yours. The point is, God's...

God said to Jonah; “Go to the great city of Nineveh and preach against it, because its wickedness has come up before me.” How exactly is that a false prophecy?

The prophecy was only ever to usher in the New Covenant, just as Moses ushed in the old covenant. Jesus fulfilled that prophecy. Luke 22:20 http://www.bible.ca/ef/expository-jeremiah-31-31-34.htm

I have no idea where you get that we are supposed to learn from the Jews? Read what Paul writes in 2 Timothy 3:16-17 Salvation was first to the Jew and then to the Gentile. The problem was that the majority of the Jews rejected Christ so it had to be opened up to the Gentiles. Rom 3:29, Rom 9:30-33.
