Oh I adore her! I am subscribed to her channel too, though I believe she passed away. Not 100% certain of that though.

    Historical Cooking youtube recommentation

I love history, and I love cooking. When I can combine the two I am just in love. I just discovered a new youtube channel called The Townsends that does 18th century cooking and miscellaneous videos. I am just in love with these videos, they are absolutely fascinating. I highly recommend it to...

What do you do when your too tired to read the bible/pray?

I went through seven days in a row working overnights and then managed to get sick enough to have to take a couple days off work - my boss sent me home when I threw up in front of her lol. At any rate, for a couple weeks up till the last couple days I have just been exhausted. I slept for...

Praying Out Loud, Does Anyone Else Have This Problem?

I've never prayed in public, but I have the opposite problem when it comes to praying. When I pray silently, I find myself very easily distracted and at a loss for words. But when I pray out loud, I find it much easier to focus, and the words come easier.

Church For The First Time In 15+ Years...

So I went to church yesterday. Twice. For the first time in years. I enjoyed it, more than I expected. I have a touch of social anxiety - I rarely leave my house except for work. Yesterday morning I tried several times to talk myself out of going, but I knew I needed to. It was a Church of...

I went to church! And now I have questions...

So for the first time in twenty+ years I went to church. I almost talked myself out of it this morning, but I went. I liked it. I was too stressed to say I enjoyed it (social anxiety), but I think once I get more used to it I will. It was a Church of Christ, and one of the no-instrument types. I...

    Church of Christ?

I think that's obeying the wording but ignoring the spirit of what's being said. That being said, it's just not a big issue to me, so if I end up in a "no instruments" church I wouldn't care. I just don't think it's important enough of an issue that I will insist on being right lol.

    Church of Christ?

Do you want to go Amish? Cause only permitting what the bible explicitly authorized is how you go amish. I respect and admire the amish, but I do love my air conditioner...

    Church of Christ?

I would be going to church for the wrong reason if music style alone could sway my decision. :) But thank you for the heads up.

    Church of Christ?

It appears so. :) I've found a church of Christ in my area and plan on going Sunday.

    Baby Steps

So on my last blog post I laid out some problems I had laid out some issues I had found in my new Christian life. This blog post will be an update on those. Trouble one: Lack of desire for sharing the gospel. No real change here. Trouble two: Prayer I have not been 100% successful in...

Photos of Christian laying hands on Trump in the White House emerges

There are so many snide, condescending, self-righteous remarks in this thread. Reminds me of twitter:)

    Church of Christ?

*grins* I like people that answer questions with a much deeper analysis than first requested. I agree with you. And I may have possibly found a local church to attend, then. Well, when I get a chance. Working overnights this weekend so won't be today.

    Is it sacrilege?

Happy Birthday! An excellent response, by the way. :) I haven't decided, and won't until I pray about it, but I appreciate the time and effort you and everyone is putting into helping me sort this out.

    Is it sacrilege?

Would your objections still hold of Jesus never had a direct appearance in the storey, just referred to by the characters?

    Is it sacrilege?

Do you think it's a sacrilege to write a story that gives a fictional twist on a story within the Bible? I am asking because I was reading about Judas and got to wondering....why? Why would he do that? I kinda want to write a short story...But I don't want to write something sacrilegious either.

    The Book That Changed You

Wide, Wide World by Susan Warner. It introduced me to the author herself, who was key in developing my obsession with Christianity. We are talking majorly sappy, overly sweet, extremely sentimental 1800s literature.

    Genesis 15:12

Your advice here was spot on:) Just wanted to let you know of the results of following through on my part. I started studying Old Testament, forgetting to pray first (forgetfulness is a HUGE failing of mine). Right away I ran into trouble in Chapter 20 of Genesis. "That's messed up. Why would...
