    Happy Reformation Day!!

I read all the ECFs up to the Council of Nicea so I'm quite certain there aren't any that disagree with Trent. Since I've read them, I know the context so I won't be fooled if you quote Clement or Polycarp out of context.

    Happy Reformation Day!!

To know what Christians have always believed you have to read their writings throughout each century to see how they interpreted scripture. Simply reading scripture won't tell you anything other than how you personally interpret based on modern culture and languages.

    Happy Reformation Day!!

I don't personally interpret scripture. I just believe what it says. Trent said exactly what scripture clearly taught and it agrees with how all Christians understood justification from the beginning (read the early church fathers to confirm Trent taught what Christians have always believed).

    Happy Reformation Day!!

The Bible says the same thing as the canons of Trent. No one should be happy or celebrate when self-proclaimed "reformers" corrupt and twist scripture to their own destruction and destroy the souls of those infected with their unbiblical human traditions that contradict scripture.

    Salvation for ex-orthodox

It's not about accepting that others will disagree (that's irrelevant). It's about Protestants having no way to determine which books are scripture which means Protestantism, based on Luther's tradition of sola scriptura, is built on a foundation of sand. Those who love God will reject...

    Salvation for ex-orthodox

It's a major difference. Saying "good works follow true faith" is ambiguous and meaningless since even atheists do good works. It's really about whether one needs to be a disciple of Jesus and actually follow what He taught instead of just believing one or two things about Jesus in Romans 10:9...

    Salvation for ex-orthodox

I don't have time for a lengthy debate. I responded because I'm non-denominational and struggled to find a bible believing church for years until I learned about the Catholic and Orthodox churches. So far, those are the only two I found that agree with the bible's teaching on justification...

    Salvation for ex-orthodox

Matthew 16:18 Romans 10:13 What people twist is what it means to "call on the name of the Lord." Simply yelling the name "Jesus" or believing a few things about Him is NOT calling upon the Lord. Church doctrine is how people know what Jesus taught. Without the church, Christianity...

When a satanic follower tried to steal the Eucharist

That was over 500 years ago. Given that the world's population is exponentially larger now, why don't these events occur 1,000 times more often in modern times?

Girl Golfer Defeats Boys, Is Denied Trophy

Great news! It's good to see gender respected and rules followed. She should be thankful she was even allowed to play.

    Salvation for ex-orthodox

Only those who obey the commandments will be saved and refusing to join the church Jesus founded is disobedience which is why it results in eternal damnation. Maybe if you twist His words out of context and don't care what He actually meant. Did anyone say otherwise? I know Catholics and...

Majority of White Americans Say They Believe Whites Face Discrimination

There have been numerous occurrences of clear discrimination against white people. A few years ago a white applicant who scored 100% on a test didn't get the job due to someone else scoring 105% due to getting 10 bonus points for not having white skin. The whole point of affirmative action and...

Majority of White Americans Say They Believe Whites Face Discrimination

I can't think of any groups that have suffered more discrimination than the two you mentioned.

Majority of White Americans Say They Believe Whites Face Discrimination

Affirmative action mandates discrimination against white people. There have been numerous occasions where employers turn down applicants and deny promotions to the most qualified simply because they are white. The evidence is overwhelming that white people and Americans are discriminated against...

    Salvation for ex-orthodox

Many people believe all those things but unfortunately for them that isn't nearly enough for salvation. Jesus warned that false prophets would arise in the end times teaching a watered down gospel that itches the ears of those hearing. Just believe and you're saved - it couldn't be any easier is...

    Salvation for ex-orthodox

Jesus only founded ONE church and it's His will that everyone be part of that ONE church. Therefore, to leave the ONE church of Christ is acting contrary to God's will. Scripture is clear that those who love God obey His commandments so people who choose to disobey God do not love Him and will...

Unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees...

The Pharisees were NOT righteous. They were hypocrites who only obeyed the outward aspects of the law to be praised by men while neglecting the more important matters of the law. Jesus said of the Pharisees, "Everything they do is done for people to see... Woe to you, teachers of the law and...

    Why America is exceptional

If the going rate for a typical cashier was $8/hr then the average cashier is worth $8/hr. That would be an incorrect way to determine worth because profit margin is based primarily on management. The same cashier performing the same amount of work would be considered to be worth more at a...

Felons in county jails to be allowed to vote in California elections

I think it really comes down to politics. If most of them are expected to vote Democrat, then Democrats will support giving them a right to vote and Republicans are going to oppose it.
