    First Ressurrection

Tree of Life, thanks for your answer I suspected as much. Huh? do you mean that the millineum (1000 years) is the period between just after the crucifixion and the near future? So 1,000 years is 2,000+ years. Surely I nisunderstand you

    First Ressurrection

5 The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were completed. This is the first resurrection. Rev 20:4 I am so confused. does this mean that the dead in Christ will not be resurrected until after the millineum?

    Numbers 11

Thank you. I can accept your answer to my first question quite happily but the second...God says they will eat meat a whole month. Then they take one bite and die before they swallow. That's not a month. What am I missing?

    2nd Samuel 24

I just found that in the NASB the verse says IT incited David against them. This completely explains my issue

    2nd Samuel 24

This is about the best explanation I've heard. Thanks

    2nd Samuel 24

Ok,I'm stuck again. 2 Samuel 24:1 starts with the Lord being angry with.Isreal...why? Now it says that He tells David to take a census but in the parallel verse, 1Chr 21 it is Satan that commands the census. So which is it? And if it is the Lord then why is taking the census a sin?

How is this not a contradiction?

Thank you for your answer. I think I will have to accept that answer on faith. If the quail was a one time thing then why wasn't the manna? I feel like I'm being such a pest but this doesn't make sense! Is it the scientist in me that is tripping me up? Why doesn't the bible say, "after that day...

How is this not a contradiction?

Gotcha but did they have quail every day or just that once? Because in numbers we hear them complaining about no meat. Who will give us meat to eat?... There is nothing at all to be seen but this manna! Ok, what happened to the quail?

How is this not a contradiction?

Sorry about the first sentence. Autocorrect changed "I" to "U"

How is this not a contradiction?

U don't mean to be contentious but U have an issue. In exodus 16:12 God promised quail in the evening and bread in the morning and delivered in the bread but later in numbers we find them complaining about no meat! What happened to the promised quail? Moses said, "this will happen when the...

    Numbers 11

So they didn't eat the quail for a month like God said they would?

    Numbers 11

I'm confused. In Numbers 11 Israel messes up again and gets tired of just manna. So Moses gets ticked off and God gets ticked off and so everyone is upset. The Jews want meat. OK, so God says He'll give it to them, not for a day or week, but for a whole month and they will have so much it will...

Successful repentance...? How is it done...?

Why did it take so many messages to come to this? The word is metanoia and means to change your mind. It doesn't mean to turn from or eschew. That would be an action, a work, and you can not be saved by works. People get confused when they find that repentance does result in changes. They think...

How do you tell a person that their mode of dress is improper?

I don't think it matters. She's coming to church, isn't that enough? Pray about it but I wouldn't confront her

Problem with Mathew-Henry commentary of Matthew 6:1

I really do hope so. I don't have decades of Bible study like some of y'all. All I have is a couple of years so I have no problem accepting that there are many things that I don't understand.

Problem with Mathew-Henry commentary of Matthew 6:1

brinny, you said precisely what I had hoped... BUT Matthew Henry said... I am quoting: It is true, our alms-deeds do not deserve heaven; but it is as true that we cannot go to heaven without them. These words are pretty clear. I agree with the first part, our deeds, our alms do not get us into...

Problem with Mathew-Henry commentary of Matthew 6:1

I recently acquired the Mathew-Henry commentaries and have been blessed to have them. I just ran across his commentary on Matthew 6:1 and I think that I don't understand what he is saying: Take heed that you do not o your charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them. Otherwise you have no...

Must I sacrifice my secular life?

It would not bother me if Christ were watching it with me. I think that's a very good gauge. No, it has no religious value but it's interesting to see, such a novel concept... a dome cuts the town off. I'm an author and like a good story. I think this is one time that I'll just have to disagree...

Must I sacrifice my secular life?

You're right, it's a series and I'm enjoying it. I am wondering, what IS this dome? How is this logical? What is this story? It's so different. I'm not seeing evil in it though.
