OP is largely referring to "false humility." And it's not glorifying to God. God gave us gifts and talents and knacks for being good at things. It is fine to acknowledge that we are created beings that would not be able to muster these gifts up for ourselves, but to act like we have no gifts...

I'm 33 and single. Not because of my profile picture - I don't always look like that. However, because I placed such an emphasis on "finding love" when I was your age, I burned away ALL OF MY 20s in pursuit of it. That was the defining mistake of my life for 10+ years. Broken hearts...

Which, of course, we do... I always saw right through my teachers' bull-pucky on that one. I feel like our generation had it best. Our lives were not yet consumed by glowing screens (phones, tablets) as kids, but those glowing screens sure have come in handy as adults.

I welcome the challenge of being PG as an adult that lives & works in normal society. It is an art form to get along with the crowd, hang with the crowd, but not be like the crowd.
