No, I've never seen that. My own mom always took her divorce as a failure, or a sign of failure on her part, that she never should have married that man in the first place. I can't think of any other divorced person I know that I would say is proud of their divorce.

I think she meant it in a relative way of speaking. If it's selfish to not want children, it's preferable to be that than to have children you don't want, which would most likely make you a less than desirable parent in the first place.
