also just because someone broke a law doesn't mean it's okay to respond with the maximum possible severity. imo we should punish illegal immigrants by making them American citizens.

This fear of 'too many brown people' (or as politicians and the media always put it, "demographic change") is totally irrational. Hawaii is already 3/4ths non-white, and it's doing pretty well. Probably the #1 state where most white Americans would want to live.
