    Trusting in God

I think as a Christian it's a key to trust that God has it all under control. Pretty much each time when I pray even in my mind (even without crossing fingers) and beg God to hear me in a situation, I just imagine God saying "Don't worry, I got this" (because it's true) or some similar words of...

When you first heard or read "Jesus Saves"

How did you feel like about it? When I first did as a child, I was confused and thought "what does He have to save me from and why", because my church rather associated Jesus with mercy and the saving part was barely touched. Or that's the part that they chose to teach us when we were children...

How do Protestants feel about Martin Luther?

As someone baptized as Lutheran when I was a baby, I must agree that our worship seems to miss something with plain churches and dry liturgies. I'm not entirely spiritually satisfied... and what is wrong with the greater practice of art for spiritual purpose? As long as one doesn't mistake to...

How do Protestants feel about Martin Luther?

They too had knowledge that we may need again - modern era has the ignorance of it's own.

How do Protestants feel about Martin Luther?

True. Usually when the new assumed "facts" or "quotes" appear from somewhere, take them with a pinch of salt. Rewriting history is not strange to history itself either, and people knew propaganda and fact twisting even back then. History is not all facts - in fact, it's a story retold by the...

Ever had a feeling that God is reading your mind?

Why should it be a scary thought? If He does, He may understand your moments of weakness if you have sinned. This way you don't have to explain why, He already knows that. Son is the proof of the Father understanding perfectly that we're complex characters. I am also fairly positive that He...

Ever had a feeling that God is reading your mind?

Have you ever had a strange feeling that God is listening to your thoughts? I had a three separate wishes in my mind I told no one about. Somehow all of them came true within the same week, excessively so, and together. So I came into a conclusion that: A) God listens to us even when we don't...

What are Putin's views on Christianity, really?

So, I found this article on the web, but since Google Translate is kind of bad what comes to translating the language, I'll explain the main points. - Putin appeared at Finnish Orthodox worship in the monastery island of Konevitsa, unannounced. Many people didn't even realize that he was there...

Do you think Christianity is rising or growing worldwide?

The way I see it, it is not really rising. Other religions and Atheism is taking more foothold in the minds of people, but at the same time, the Christians that do remain become more devoted. The lukewarm become more inclined to recognize what their hearts are really inclined to, whatever that is.

How often do you think that God is trying to tell you something?

Good point, but are we always open enough to actually receive the message? Many people still ignore Him.

How often do you think that God is trying to tell you something?

And is the message personal? Or something to do with general news?

Christian group identity vs. individual identity (gay marriage)

Obviously, it can be changed. There's several stories about it. Sometimes I google opinions just for curiosity of seeing how common they are. For example, googling "I used to be gay" always brings a lot of results.

Christian group identity vs. individual identity (gay marriage)

Maybe they don't really believe that they can be washed as white as a snow. Maybe the talk in the media about homosexuality being in genetics and being born as one is something to reinforce that idea, though it has been proven wrong. Identical twins: one can be straight, one can be gay, so it's...

Christian group identity vs. individual identity (gay marriage)

If there's a way to partake His divine nature (and there is), how can you get a form of godliness by knowing what it is, and yet doing according to your own desires before His? Sounds like reading the Bible blindfolded to me. You may imagine what reads there, and you may imagine it's something...

Christian group identity vs. individual identity (gay marriage)

This is how I also see it - at least, for me it falls into the category "what would Jesus do", as shown by His example.

Christian group identity vs. individual identity (gay marriage)

I actually am somewhat a visual artist. I have noticed a phenomenon going on in art communities at least what comes to illustrations of the Christian authors and their older classics. I have seen many people taking a friendship of two characters of same sex from those stories, and turning it...

Christian group identity vs. individual identity (gay marriage)

I mainly posted my point of view because I wonder why the LBGT community has to been so busy trying to change us, the church... they have so many more options to get what they want. Individualism is made of both knowing that we are, but also knowing what we are not. "Hate" has become an often...

Christian group identity vs. individual identity (gay marriage)

I think I can see where the debate or conflict on gay marriage is coming from. It's a debate of which identity is more important - the identity of a group or identity of an individual. If God thinks that man sleeping with a man is a sin, marriage is an union between a man and a woman, and...

    Christianity and free will

Bible is the proof for us. At least it is for me because it does prove itself in prayers and even in the world events all over again. Not all people are convinced, though. I know someone who could be called as agnostic/theist. He says that there very well might be a higher power but he says...
