Is the Sermon on the Mount for Today?

Thank you for holding forth the truth of the wonderful gospel of grace by faith in the finished work of Christ. It is His work that saves us, not us trying to save or keep ourselves saved by following doctrines and precepts.

Is the Sermon on the Mount for Today?

You are exactly right. We walk by the Spirit of Life in Christ. Love fulfills the law which is poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit. Romans 5:5

How do I get onto the Narrow Gate?

We are perfect in our identity and union with Christ. The new man, new creation is holy, righteous, seated in the heavenlies with Christ, while we are still physically living in these mortal bodies. We grow in our walk. We start out as babes in Christ. We fall, get back up, fall again, but grow...

How do I get onto the Narrow Gate?

If you are going to watch something watch AndrewFarley.org. He teaches the finished work of the cross.....all our sins are forgiven past, present and future through faith in Christ....not faith in ourselves to walk perfectly. Righteousness is a gift from God, and we are as right/righteous as...

Is the "Only Believe" doctrine false?

Christ saves us through his finished work of the cross, his sacrifice to take away our sins AND place us in Him, with eternal life that we have now, and forever. He changes us and through that union produces the obedience of faith. Romans 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus has...

question for Christians would you do anything different

I believe I would be more compelled to share my faith, especially since I would be crossing over to a different realm and I would be more apt to share my thoughts of my confidence of eternal life and the importance of looking at the claims of Christ since everyone is going to face that day as well.

What The Eucharist Does NOT Mean To Me

Good post. When we believe in Christ as our Savior we receive Him into our life and we are joined to Him spiritually. We are in Him and He is in us. Col 1:27 says believers have Christ in them, who is our hope of glory. ICor 6:17 says he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him. Eternal...

What is the best "way" to, if possible, to work toward of follow in keeping the commandments...?

Jesus is the Way....I am the way, the truth and the life. If you have placed your faith in Him, He is your life. Your old man died, and the new man lives by faith in the Son of God. For I through the law, died to the law that I might live to God. Gal 2: 16-21. We are not lawless...the law...

WHERE DID THE BODY OF CHRIST BEGIN ?

Doesn't mean the body of Christ didn't start till then....God brought in the Gentiles when he chose to. I wouldn't have a problem so much about when it started if the 12 apostles and early church are included in the body of Christ. Do you think they are?

    Paul question

Yes, its a total life of faith. Hear by faith, live by faith, walk by faith. The works/fruit/obedience is produced through faith. We are joined to Christ by faith and made a new creation. We are made a good, new self that grows and matures through dependence on Christ.

WHERE DID THE BODY OF CHRIST BEGIN ?

Ahhh, but how do you know that? Where does scripture say it could not have started with a Jewish festival? You ask others to prove their position but you really never do. If you read Eph 2:11-22 you will see that the Gentiles were brought into the body which was already in place, made up...

Is the idea of self affliction of our bodies to keep from sinning biblical?

Nowhere did I say grace is a license to sin. It's grace that teaches us to say no to unrighteousness. Jesus was speaking to people before the cross. He was teaching Jews who were living under the law, believing they could stop sinning by the law and live righteously. But its the law that...

Is the idea of self affliction of our bodies to keep from sinning biblical?

To me this is anything but a sad story. To come to understand this explained so much to me. If you go back and read my post, nowhere did I say it was futile to keep God's righteous ways. I said it was futile if we were depending on our own efforts apart from Christ, apart from receiving as a...

Is the idea of self affliction of our bodies to keep from sinning biblical?

Have to go to work, so will answer this later. Just one question though....Jesus said to be perfect even as my Father in heaven is perfect. How can that be done unless God intervenes and gives us that perfection through His Son?
