I am definitely trusting my own feelings, it doesn't matter to me how those people felt back then. When I said I don't agree with the bible's teaching on love, I was specifically telling you that my feelings are different and that I trust these feelings. Love is an emotional thing.

Well I respect your opinion but that's just your opinion. A lot of people don't think god is real and even more people don't think god defines or dictates love.

I don't have a high esteem of C.S Lewis and when I say I disagree with biblical love I say I disagree with very clear and specific scriptures concerning love. Love by commandment isn't love, it's obedience.

If you desire to hurt someone, you are not loving them. Isn't that easy to understand? You are doing good things because you feel like you need to in order to please god or be a good person... not loving them.

I'm not trying to work with the biblical elaboration of love, I completely disagree with the biblical elaboration of love. Love is not something you can do because you're told to, that's obedience, not love. We cannot turn love on and off, we can DO good things by choice... but that's a choice...

uhm no... a parent should never tell their child that they don't like them. Even if "hate the sin love the sinner" actually made sense, that should still never happen. You shouldn't tell your child you don't like them. That creates massive self esteem and identity problems in a developing...
