Which news story is more devistating to you?

I guess it's because what I find offensive has to do more with what I do, than what's done to me. I hate that my country did this because it reflects on each of us, really. As far as what fate I'd prefer, of course I'd rather be beaten, than have my head sawed off. I hate that all these...

Which news story is more devistating to you?

I agree. I guess part of me is more upset by the abuse because I expected better of us. I guess that was naive, and in it's own way quite arrogant. It's becoming more and more apparent to me that we are all capable of that kind of evil, and that without Christ, we have no chance at all.

Muslims: Judge us not by un-Islamic acts of few

Sorry, Jameseb, I've gotta call you out on this one although I fear it will take more time than I have. OUR GOD killed a man and his wife for selling their land, giving part of the money to the church and pretending they gave all of it. So, we can't nitpick about stuff like that, when we are...

[ As we all do. As no one should discount anyone's. Good post, Blindfaith.:)

Which news story is more devistating to you?

I understood it, and I'd choose it, too. Everyday makes me more certain I'd rather be with God than here. What you said----"no one wants to even try to understand what I had origianlly tried to say"-----to me that is the crux of the whole world situation. No one wants to understand. We are...

Which news story is more devistating to you?

    1. I didn't quote you nor anyone else, I was making a collective statement in response to a whole attitude I disagree with. I assumed, maybe wrongly, that I had the opportunity to do that like everyone else does. 2. I didn't say "devalued", I said "value". Please reread my post. 3. I didn't...

Which news story is more devistating to you?

I just want to bump this, so we can compare apples to apples while we debate the value of human suffering. :sigh:

Should Christians form a separate Government?

Yes, and you seem to be a totally "pay it forward" kind of guy, Tulc. You give alot. I read this today by Oswald Chambers and it seems to fit in quite well in this thread: "There is no escaping the penetrating search of my life by Jesus. If I see the little speck in your eye, it means I...

Which news story is more devistating to you?

I just wonder how many of our sons and daughters we'll have to lose to prove we are morally superior? Because the more I listen, the more I hear that it's about "we are better than them, our lives are worth more than theirs, but we'll sacrifice as many of ours as it takes to show we are "the...

Should Christians form a separate Government?

Which news story is more devistating to you?

That's a good point, and I'd wager that our troops over there may be in more danger from the insurgents now than they already were.

Should Christians form a separate Government?

I don't believe anyone is beyond redemption. I know that for a fact because I'm not. Somehow He saw fit to love me and bestow grace on me, and He's called me to do the same. So I think I'll go with that.

ACLU defends Bible verse as free speech.

Exactly. lol. If they defend it, there must be an ulterior motive. If not, they are commie liberals. Rock-----ACLU------Hard Place

Which news story is more devistating to you?

I'm not voting, because I think it's ridiculous to have a poll about outrage over both these atrocities. Our outrage and our "contests" over which is worse somehow seems disrespectful, and minimizes the whole thing. Maybe the space of time has been so short between them, that I'm not able to...

    Where is our appology?

Well said. Watching the news makes me physically ill, anymore. And I don't know if it's because of all the horror, or listening to everyone try to blame everyone else, or use it politically, or one-up each other on public condemnations and apologies. Too many dead people and I can't see the...

Fine, then send your own kids to die

I agree. But there is a big market for extremists in the media, among the extremists in the public.

Kerry Purple Heart Doc Speaks Out

Regardless of our political position, the man went to war for his (our) county. He's got my respect for that.

    Rumsfeld apologizes, accepts responsibility.

Although I hate what our soldiers did to those prisoners, and I hope it's isolated (in spite of the rumors of more videos of rape and even murder), I am also concerned for all our soldiers over there when this escalates. And it will. And it's already bad enough over there now. Whether you are...

    Rumsfeld apologizes, accepts responsibility.

That's what I mean. We can easily do that in our patriotism, but how many of us could hold those men's children while they watched that happen to them? It sort of cheapens our indignation over what was done to the Jewish people, when we are capable of similar atrocities---maybe not on such a...
