    Favorite sci-fi movie

Yes, 'Ghost in the shell', is a great sci-fi film, beautifully animated, a great work of art. I esspecially like the musical interlude with the rain, neon lights, the river trams, and the school children with the umbrellas, fantastic. :), lovely music aswell.

    Looking for new SciFi Books

I wouldn't clasify 'Enders Game' as Sci-fi, it's a book about social politics. As for epic Sci-fi, Larry Niven's Ringworld books.

    85 Million £GBP European Lottery (149 Mill $USD) Friday 20 Jan

I like the description of the lottery as an 'Idiot tax', which in general sums up the lottery quite well. However I'm willing to conseed that when there is a double or triple rollover, there is more value in the ticket than the cost of the ticket. As I see it, if you are gambling for...

    85 Million £GBP European Lottery (149 Mill $USD) Friday 20 Jan

You can win the lottery every week. All you have to do is not play, and you get to win what would have been your £1 stake. You should try it the odds are great. :)

    Root of All Evil

Yes, I totally agree with you view of Dawkins. He is very biassed and doesn't pressent a good two sided argument. He seems unwilling to even consider thinking about the possiblity of the non scientific being true. He certainly doesn't strike me as being a very objective person, which is odd...

    Smoking ban

Yes I agree, perhaps doubleing the tax on diesel would be a good start. I voted for a ban in public places. I'd also like to see a ban in the home when there are children living there. Forcing a child to second hand smoke is child abuse and shouldn't be tollerated.

    Immigration

Britain is already one of the most densely populated places on earth, we should be trying to reduce the population here. The skills gap can be filled by giving work permits instead of citizenship. The worker can then stay as long as they are needed by gaining extensions to their permit...

    cheating the high scores

Hi, ive not been online for quite some time and decided to have a look and see if any of my high scores still remained. It was then I noticed, well what's the best way to put this?, "some unusually high scores". What's the point of even considering an attempt at a high score when you don't...

    Trouble submitting a score

Yes I'm having problems as well. I can no longer submit hight scores and high scores won't auto send as they used to. I've tried using both IE and Firefox, but neither will submit scores as IE used to do.

    Should UK redeploy Iraq troops?

We should do whatever it takes to get the elections in Iraq completed, but as soon as there is a legitimate government in Iraq we should imediately pull all British troops out. British troops should only then be commited back to Iraq a part of a UN force that has been requested by the new...

    Migraine epidemic ?

Not me. I'm one of the few people blessed with never having head aches. I've never had more than a very slight head aches and even those have been cured with a glass of water. Even on the odd occasion I've been very drunk, I've not had more than a slight headache with the hangover. Perhaps...

Is obesity on the rise in UK?

Hehe. :) While we shouldn't make any conclusions from the appearance of one man in the street, I think it's safe to say people in the UK are finaly reaching a level of wealth where even the poorest people have more than enough to eat. During the Second world war the U.K became very poor and it's...

Should England and Wales move to European time?

However since the European court of justice became the final court of appeal after the Palace of Westminster, we are all part of the European superstate, France has to be viewed at least equaly with wales when considering which country England should assiciate with most (especially with Wales...

Could a UK member explain TV licensing to me?

McCracAttack- yes the licence fee is enforced. People regularly go to prison here due to unpaid fines from watching TV without a licence and gain a criminal record. If you have a TV that is plugged into a power socket then you are liable to pay the fee (about £110 per year). You must pay the...

Should England and Wales move to European time?

Not if you got up an hour later. No more daft than having the UK and France on different times.

Should England and Wales move to European time?

I'm all for sychronisation with European time. It would mean less resetting of clocks. But what is more important is to leave the time the same all year round. I'm fed up of having jet lag twice a year. It's madness to waste tens of thousands of man hours each year, due to people having to set...

    MP3 Bible.

Thanks for the links. I'd already found that link, the mp3 bible listed there is very good value for money, since it is free. However I'd prefer a more professionally produced product. The persons reading in the versions of the bibles available on this site are obviously very good readers and...
