    Becoming Catholic - Introducing myself

Hi everyone, I just wanted to introduce myself. I started using this web forum when I first came back to Christianity after I had converted to Islam for about 5 years. And now I'm on the road to become Catholic. I'm currently in RCIA. Please pray for me!

Non-catholic and confraternity of the rosary

I'm not Catholic and currently attend an Anglican Church. However I've been considering RCIA lately and am meeting with a nun tomorrow to get more information. (I'm rather nervous about this I've never met a nun before). Anyways, I came across a page where I can join a rosary confraternity. I...

    Did my first rosary prayer

While I'm not catholic - I'm still figuring things out. I currently go to an Anglican Church. I love the Marian devotions of Catholics. Anyways I finally did the rosary prayer. It was a bit tricky. How do Catholics memorize it all? If anyone has any resources on the rosary I'd greatly...

Ladies of the Forum - A question

I would be hesitant because it illustrates a mismatch in lifestyle. I've lost 80lbs over the last 3 years and it took a lot of blood, sweat and tears (literally) to do it. I would fear that being with a larger man would pull me back into the habits that made me a big girl in the first place. I...

    My heart is broken

Thank you everyone for your kind words. I feel less alone. I think sometimes in the depth of our pain we forget how these emotions are common to us all. I'm going to try to work on my relationship with God. I know I haven't been a good christian at all. My heart is so full of doubt and...

    My heart is broken

Hello, I haven't posted a lot on this forum. Just a little background info. I'm 31 female in canada. My faith is still very new and not very strong. I came back to Christianity after leaving for a long time as I converted to Islam. My heart has been broken by a man this past week. I'm...

    Careers

I'm in the same boat. I have no idea what to do with my life. I have a university degree in history but that's not very practical in the 'real world'. Currently I do IT helpdesk.

    My mind is whirling

I guess I get really confused when people say Jesus died for our sins, but it only counts if you don't sin anymore.

    My mind is whirling

That makes sense. I'm afraid I don't have enough Holy Spirit in me for my numerous habitual sins, especially the ones that involve just thoughts (IE: lustful thoughts, being judgemental, etc). I'm still trying to develop faith. Somedays it's there and others days I'm just too frustrated with...

    My mind is whirling

Are you suppose to repent your sins daily? If you sinned, but didn't repent yet, and died, are you doomed? Isn't that called 'dying with sins on your head?'? What about the sins you cannot remember?

Can I Wear an Allah Pendant?

I reverted back to Christianity from Islam, you may want to research some of the customs in wearing such a pendent. For example, it would be insulting to Muslims if you wore that pendent when using a washroom. You would need to remove it, then purify yourself before putting it back on.

First time at a methodist church

Oh that makes a lot of sense. It sounds like United Methodist would feel more like a spiritual home for me. I believe because I'm in Ontario that would just fall under the United Church umbrella.

First time at a methodist church

Hi everyone, I just thought I'd share my experience from this morning. I went to the Free Methodist church close to where I live. Everyone seemed friendly. There was a group of young people who played in a band and sang at the front. This I found a bit odd. Is this usual for methodist...

    What animals do you have?

Hi have my kitty Baxter. He was a stray found that showed on my aunt's doorstep in the US. She nursed him back to health as he had a busted paw and was just skin and bones. They couldn't keep him so asked me to take him. So I brought him to Canada last forth of July and he's been my buddy...

Love & Self-Worth Challenges For Christian Women

What a wonderful idea for a program. I personally struggle very deeply with self-esteem issues and self worth. And because of that I tend to find myself in situations where I put myself dangerous situations and end up being used by people. Your question is really difficult to answer. Why...

    My mind is whirling

Thank you Nails74, theophilus40 and fm107 for your quotes and links, I'm looking at them now. Do you think the following verse is indicative of my leaving and Christianity but finding myself pulled back into it? “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; 28 and I give...

    My mind is whirling

The scriptures seem to be all on how you interpret them based on their translation. I may be wrong about this, but it seems each sect translates and interprets the scriptures based on what they want them to say?
