    Writing In Style

Jack London can weave a scene like nobody's business. Plus, the guy can take a story about a dog and make it break your heart as if you were living inside the dog's soul yourself. Genius <3

    What's on your mind? (39)

Dude, after all the crap she's put you through, you're making the right choice. It's easy to get super emotional and sentimental when faced with an ultimatum and the actual departure of someone. But when you were THERE and NOT LEAVING, how did she treat you? Like dirt. Think about that when you...

That cannot be your dog. Is that really your dog? He is too cute and insane to be anyone's real dog!!

Any Ted Dekker/Frank Peretti readers here?

I couldn't get into the "Darkness" series. I started reading and was rolling my eyes within minutes. Disappointing, considering how much I love his later works.

Any Ted Dekker/Frank Peretti readers here?

Never read Ted Dekker, dunno if I ever will. I loved The Oath and The Visitation by Peretti. The last one especially, really shines a light on the "culture" of today's Christianity and it's pretty embarrassing. Really made me examine my own faith and it was hard.

It's just quicker than saying "I prefer not to drink any alcohol, ever, in any situation, period." :)

what happens if im not baptized ?

Yeah, my son (12) hasn't been baptised yet. I don't believe in baptising children who are too young to make the decision themselves, and right now he's just too scared about being dunked in front of people (he's not comfortable being underwater in general). I figure, God knows his heart, and...

    What's on your mind? (39)

Salads = heaven. Also, I applied for an online work-at-home site about 8 months ago and JUST NOW got a response that I was accepted. Yay for extra money on the side! I'd heard people say that it could take months and months to be accepted, but I never thought I'd hear from them :)

    What's on your mind? (39)

Where are you headed? I may have missed it if you updated your story in another thread. Did you find a place to go? Hopefully I won't miss your response cause I really wanna know what's up with you :)

    Alcoholism

Proud teetotaler here. I had my stupid fun playing around with alcohol as a teen, never got drunk (inherited my dad's superhuman tolerance, it seems), finally decided it was stupid, nasty stuff and I didn't want to help fund an industry that causes more deaths, abuse, and crime than any other...

Does bearing your cross = living in bondage?

Who says you can't find joy while bearing a cross? The Bible says that we are to bear our crosses (Luke 9:23), that this life will have trials for us no matter how "good" we are, it's simply part of the Christian life because the world and Satan hate us (Matthew 10:22, John 16:33), but that...

How Do I Know I Am Going To Heaven

The Bible says clearly that we are saved by confession (Romans 10:9), belief (Romans 10:9), AND faith (Ephesians 2:8). Romans 10:9 also says that you make Him Lord ("If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord") and that "you will be saved"; therefore, you recognize Jesus as your personal...

Jesus said to me "move on from being people's friend, start an argument"

So you only want people to respond who agree with you? It's not very adult-like to ask for responses and then dictate how people should respond. As long as people are being respectful, can't they respond honestly and freely, even if you don't agree with them?

    Starting Again

So. Time to get back on track with my weight loss. I haven't been a "normal" size since high school. My heaviest weight was about 280 back in 2010. That scared me into action, and I lost 20-25 pounds by counting calories and exercising with a stationary bike. Then I sort of slacked off because I...

Jesus said to me "move on from being people's friend, start an argument"

Yeah, if something was telling you to start a random argument or debate with a complete stranger... I'd hesitate on just blindly obeying that one. Then again, it may be that you're misinterpreting the idea. The Bible does say that families will turn against each other because of Him (if one...
