    Ye Olde Libertarian Pub (2)

Ah, I meant to say "Founders", not US government. Either way my statement holds, I was just pointing out that it's arbitrary. Despite believing that it's arbitrary, I still think that life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness is a good motto to follow. I was trying to encourage critical...

Alright then, I thought we were discussing a core libertarian principle and its validity, but apparently that thought was not mutual.

You might want them to be, but not all governments grant their people those rights. Then is it a coincidence that you happen to agree with the US government's definitions? The government does get to define what it means because it is the only enforcer. On the contrary, it is a very...

Yes it rings bells, but it's still arbitrary. What if the government defined it as something else? What if the government said that "treading on" someone doesn't include treading on their property if they aren't putting that property to use or aren't occupying that property?

For creationists: give me your arguments against evolution.

What would it take? Why? And evidently whatever is literal/metaphorical in your subjective opinion is correct and "biblically mature". This means that christians were all "biblically immature" for more than a thousand years, and that kind of a statement is unbelievably arrogant. How...

For creationists: give me your arguments against evolution.

If the bible rejects evolution, then you should reject the bible. If you interpret genesis as metaphorical instead, you can join the majority of christians who also understand evolution to be true. Do you also interpret John 6 literally and therefore believe in transubstantiation? If the...

I think you mean different things by this though. He means they are equally wrong. You mean they're equally right, I assume.
