I am trying to find a cross/crusifix to wear, I have found one I like but the cross is not a cross, it is a T-shape with a Jesus on it. Is this okay? I wondered if it was artistic lisence and using a cross shape which was not true to the real cross shape. Thanks Cookie

Thank you, svt4him! The original version I alwyas interpretated as meaning that we cannot expect to be forgiven unless we forgive those sinning against us: Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. But the message version sounds as though it is missing this vital comparison.

I see nothing blasphemious, but I am only learning. Maybe your search for information might be better put to use if you look for something positive instead of trying to condemn a group and their beliefs?

It's good as long as it is not your ONLY Bible. I noticed a few things which were lost in translation, one I remember is 'Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us - the bit in italics doesn't come across in The Message, where I think it is the important part of this verse.

What I meant was along the lines of 'let he who is without sin cast the first stone' So for example it is possible to be pro a lot of things and that may not please everyone but it is not a bad thing. Being anti-certain things, however is stone casting.
