In case you didn't know, both ancient Egyptian and the Semitic languages are part of the Afro-Asiatic language family, both were descended from the same mother tongue from 15000 ~ 20000 years ago, making it the world's oldest (demonstrated) language family, even predating the arrival of human...

Difference (if any) between fallen angels, demons, and unclean spirits.

I was wondering what the difference between these three are. The Bible doesn't really explain them in much detail. Has our understanding of demons been influenced by the original usage in Greek mythology? (δαίμων) Are they 3 entirely different "species" of being?

Calvinists do not really affirm "the purpose of man is to glorify God and enjoy him forever"

…Which is what the Westminster Catechism states, which was written by Calvinists. If Calvinists were logically consistent, this would be true of the elect, but not mankind in general. In case some wise guy wants to argue that the statement is technically correct because "glorifying God" is was...

Are fetal homicide laws incompatible with the pro-choice position?

I don't see how a fetus is only a person if the mother wants it. Personhood is not dependent on whether someone is wanted or not. If a fetus is not a person, does that mean any grief the mother feels is somehow irrational and unfounded?

    Is abortion analogous to taxation?

I've been thinking about the "my body; my choice" argument. If bodily autonomy is a right, can financial autonomy be a right as well? (as in "my money; my choice") Or perhaps taxation is a necessary evil in which there is no viable alternative? Your thoughts? Where do you draw the line?

Chalcedonian creed and Jesus not knowing the time of his return

I recently found out that the early church considered it heresy that Jesus didn't know the hour of his return. For the Chalcedonian creed says (via Wikipedia) Following, then, the holy Fathers, we all unanimously teach that our Lord Jesus Christ is to us One and the same Son, the Self-same...
