    Self-Aggrandizement

    Should Christians focus on self-aggrandizement?

    Sexual Chastity and Your Eyes

One of the beauties of obeying the Lord and remaining sexually chaste, is that you can look everyone square in the eyes. Sexually permissive people can't always look people square in the eyes, even though some will probably say they can.

    Sexual Chastity and Liberals

The Lord taught us to be sexually chaste, but liberals seem to be promoting a message of sexual permissiveness. What do you think the Lord thinks of this?

    Peace, Prosperity, and Power

We seem to be in a time of peace and prosperity, relatively speaking. You'd think the left would be happy. Clearly they are not. They don't have power. Would they be willing to give up peace and prosperity so that they could have power?

    Liberal and Conservative

There is an obvious, I think, rift in the Protestant Church. There are conservatives, who apparently believe the entire Bible is the inerrant Word of God. And there are liberals, who seem to believe we are bound to nothing the Bible says. Has anyone ever wondered if there is some middle ground?

    Protestants, Catholics, and Orthodox

When one is a Protestant, they are aware that there are liberal Protestants and conservative Protestants. Therefore, you really can’t put them into a single category, or so it would seem to me. Is the same true of Catholics and Orthodox?

    Happy?

Assuming we obey the Lord’s commandments, does the Lord want us to be happy?

    Simple of Complicated?

Sorry - I mistyped the title. It should have read: Simple or Complicated. It seems to me that the gospel is a very simple thing: From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." Matt 4:17 RSV What I think happens is that people are reluctant to...

    Sin

The fact of the matter is, when I sin, I bring trouble into my life. Therefore, Jesus taught (you and) me not to sin (Matthew 4:17). I can’t figure out why so many Christians resist the idea that we should repent of our sin.

    Women Catholic Priests?

I believe that Paul and Peter disapproved of women priests, and a lot of people think that if they disapproved, then the Lord must have disapproved. Still, I am aware of no Bible verse that suggests the Lord (God or Jesus) disapproved. Last I knew, the Catholic Church had a shortage of priests...

    Back to the Unified Church

I recently started a thread about the pros and cons of having a single, unified, worldwide church, as opposed to the many denominations we currently have. Certainly, when we pass onto the resurrection, we will have a single, unified, worldwide church. But for the time being, I would suggest...

    Satan’s Goal

I do not know all of life’s mysteries, but it seems to me that Satan’s goal is to force us to bow down to him. He can’t show his face here on earth, so he settles for trying to force us to bow down to his chosen ones. What do you think?

    A Prophecy or Command?

After Adam and Eve sinned in the garden, the Lord said this to Eve: "I will greatly multiply your pain in childbearing; in pain you shall bring forth children, yet your desire shall be for your husband, and he shall rule over you." Gen 3:16 RSV Are the words “Your desire shall be for your...

    Theologies

It seems to me most people abide by one of these theologies: 1. The Lord wants us to suffer for no reason. 2. The Lord doesn't care what we do - we're all going to heaven. 3. The Lord wants us to be happy, and that means obeying his commandments, since the commandments keep us out of trouble...

    When Do You Forgive?

The Lord tells us that we must forgive someone who has repented of their sin: [3] Take heed to yourselves; if your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him; [4] and if he sins against you seven times in the day, and turns to you seven times, and says, `I repent,' you must...

    Being the Lord’s Chosen People

People sometimes want to know who the Lord’s chosen people are, but what does it mean to be the Lord’s chosen people? Does it mean the Lord gives you special privileges? I believe you will find being the chosen people means you are held up as an example to others. If you are obeying the Lord’s...

    One Church?

Some people think it's a great sin that we have a lot of denominations, rather than just one. If there was just one denomination, the leader, or leaders, of that denomination would be extremely powerful people. Would that be a good thing?
