KJV or NIV?

The YLT translates word to literally represent their original meaning and even grammatical structure. It is based on both the Textus Receptus and the Majority Text, and it tells you when a verse is not included in early manuscripts. Most modern translations are halfway between literal...

What's the difference between Satan and Lucifer?

Satan is a title used to refer to an evil being. It comes from Hebrew "HaSatan", which means "the adversary." From Wikipedia: As an adjective, the Latin word lucifer meant "light-bringing" and was applied to the moon. As a noun, it meant "morning star", or, in Roman mythology, its divine...

    KJV or NIV?

I trust the KJV a lot more than most translations, but I think for the New Testament, Young's Literal Translation is the most accurate. For the Old Testament, I prefer to use a Septuagint, but for a Masoretic text, the KJV is one of the best.

Why I do not believe Sola Scriptura.

Here are some reasons I do not believe in Sola Scriptura: 1. It is a self-contradicting theory. No book of the Bible contains a list of canonical books, and even if it did, you would not have any proof that books is scripture. 2. Most Bible translators and modern day Christians commit what is...

Unitarianism or Trinitarianism - which is Biblical?

1 John 5:7-8 "Because there are three who testify in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit, and these three are one; the Spirit, and the Water, and the Blood, also these three are one."

how many believe the prophets and saints of God that Enoch never died?

It is clearly expressed in the Bible that we will be given a better physical body in our physical eternal world. The righteous will be physically living in a physical new Earth within the walls of the physical New Jerusalem. If you follow the councils, the fifth ecumenical council said this in...

    Is cussin really a sin?

Hatred is a sin. Using any words to express hatred to another is a sin. If the words do not do that, there is no difference between them and the word "balloon."

    Question about scriptures

Luke 21:8 "And he said, 'Beware, you should not be deceived, for many will come in the name of me saying 'I am he', and, 'the time has drawn near.' Do not follow after them." Romans 13:11 "Besides this, you know the time that it is, how it is now the moment for you to wake from sleep. For...

Orthodoxy - From Paganism or Divinely Inspired?

The Nicene Creed (without filioque) is based in scripture. Here is the scripture supporting it: I believe in one God, Father Almighty[1], Creator of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible[2]. And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God[3], begotten of the...

    Was the Pre-Nicene Church Orthodox?

Creeds are simply professions of one's faith. The trinity is a belief expressed throughout the old and new testament. If you believe Jesus is your savior, you must believe he is God as Isaiah 43:11 says only God can be our savior. The Bible expresses no doctrine of forced payment to churches...

    Was the Pre-Nicene Church Orthodox?

No creeds? Here is one: "Yet for us there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things and for whom we exist, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things and through whom we exist"-1 Corinthians 8:6 The trinity is located in John 1:1, John 10:30, John 20:28, Isaiah...

Why does the NWT translate John 10:33 as "a god"

In the original Greek it says "antropos on poieis seauton theon" which means "being a man, made yourself God." Nothing was mistranslated. Jesus made himself out to be God, not an angel. Jesus is God.

    Enoch

The book of 1 Enoch is a heretical and blasphemous writing and was not composed by the prophet Enoch. Read this: The Book of Enoch EXPOSED!

    "Religion" vs "Spirituality"

I agree with what he said. I believe that religion and spirituality are one in the same. They cannot live apart from each other anymore than a leaf can live without its roots. Religion is the root of spirituality. Religion is in vain without spirituality. If you do all the "religion", but you...

    Reciting Hail Mary

Should Christians recite the hail Mary out of veneration for Mary? If so, when? If so, should we use the Catholic hail Mary or the Luther approved/Orthodox hail Mary (Catholics ask for Mary's intercession while Orthodox/Luther approved does not)?

    gendering in the bible

The original scripture is not gender neutral. A translation which is gender neutral is, by definition, a mistranslation.

What's the best Protestant Bible Translation?

There is no such thing as a "protestant Bible." There is the Bible, and there are translations of it. The KJV is always reliable, and I recommend it as it is popular among all denominations (Catholic, Orthodox, Protestant, and false unitarian churches). I find the ESV easier to read and it's...

    Martin Luther's Teaching on Predestination.

The only predestination taught by scripture is one where God plans us a plan to serve his Kingdom before we are born, and when we are born, gives us the option to follow his plan or go against it. Predestination to hell is against scripture. "For I have no pleasure in the death of anyone...
