    OWS Turning Violent and Anti-Jew

It would be more of a discussion if you'd provide a source for such a claim. OWS is a very diverse and unorganized group; it would be hard to call "them" anti-semite as there is barely a "them" to be spoken of. Does this have something to do with Israel?

How to Watch ALL of Tonight's Debate

Thanks, NHE. I'm watching it right now, although I admit to not knowing much about foreign policy so I can't be too critical. I do like how the moderators are really strict about the time limits and seem to be happy to repeat a question if the candidate tried not to answer it. EDIT: Just read...

    Newt Gingrich

I'm just wondering if it's too slow though. Romney's been at at least second place for the entire race so far, and Cain's been up there for what's turning into an impressive amount of time as well. It seems that both of them would have to make some major gaffes to provide Newt with enough...

    seen this?

Apologies everyone! I should've included some sort of smiley, as I was just joking. (well, mostly...anyone who is willing to incorporate lyrics from the Pokémon theme song into his life's philosophy has to be at least somewhat open-minded right?)

    Newt Gingrich

I agree, Gingrich is easily the best public speaker/debater of the current nominees. However I believe his time has passed, I don't see him gaining any extra momentum from anything other than all the other candidates imploding. Where would the large amount of support he still needs come from?

    seen this?

Aren't you lefties the ones always going on about being open-minded about everything? You're just sore that he's more open-minded than any of you.

Yes! MORE police brutality! Only this time against unarmed peaceful students!

Well it looks like "peaceable" assembly doesn't apply here anymore: May God have mercy on your souls, protesters.

Thousands of Students Riot After Paterno Is Ousted

Hmmm...set an example to those who fail to report child molestation/rape, or go to a bowl game. Tough call, Penn State student body. Tough call.

Yes! MORE police brutality! Only this time against unarmed peaceful students!

I fail to see the problem. While the first amendment guarantees the right to peaceably assemble, it says nothing of the right to peaceably assemble and not get a shillelagh to the pancreas.

    Does free will truly exist?

It's tricky. As usual it all depends on definitions. But I will say that God knowing what we are going to do can still leave room for some kind of free will, just as long as we don't know what we are going to do.

Coulter: Our Blacks Are So Much Better

DISCLAIMER: I only know one black person (my best friend growing up) and I haven't talked to him in a few years, so I'm probably racist. It is obvious that Ann Coulter isn't in it to convert liberals. I think we can all agree on that. Like every pundit, she's found an audience and panders to...

    OWS kitchen blues.

I'm starting to get tired too, especially with the New York crowd. I'm surprised it took this long for incidents like this to come to the surface. From what I hear these are mostly college students, and if they're anything like the idiots at my school, they're, well, idiots. Perpetually drunk...

    Victory or Death....Newt

Nope, just me being my cynical self. I was thinking of how the media would perceive this speech, specifically how any of the left leaning talking heads that I watch (quite regularly I admit) would look at it. They usually have sound bites in their opening montages of some extreme-sounding...

    What is a Free Market?

First let me state that I have yet to have any economics class (and won't), so I'm talking in rudimentary, colloquial terms here. It is likely that I am mistaken on certain concepts; don't hesitate to correct me! My main question is what the definition of a true free market is, and my second...

    Victory or Death....Newt

After hearing this guy's views on atheists in America, especially at the last debate, it would be nothing short of idiotic for someone like me to even consider voting for him. I admit, though, to agreeing with him for the first minute or so (as I imagine most people would), although I don't...

    Practical Reason

Taking the question at face value and assuming I know what you're getting at, I would say yes, absolutely. There are all kinds of things we in general take for granted, but when actually thought through are debatable at best (free will being a good example). There's a reason social sciences like...

Paul Ryan, Enemy of the Middle Class?

This strikes me as a tautology. With domestic policy your enemy will necessarily also be a citizen of your country, hence the phrase domestic policy. We even have a name for when your ideological enemy is foreign: foreign policy. I am reluctant to do so, but here I will agree completely with...

    On Interpretation

I feel weird saying this, but it seems I would have to disagree with Aristotle here. I would almost say the opposite in fact; one can find a large group of people (albeit not "all men") who speak the same language and write in the same script, that's relatively superficial, but their...

Do you think multiculturalism is a Good thing for Europe?

But how is homogeneity an inadequacy? Japan seems to be no worse off than anyone else at the moment (besides the nuclear meltdown thing).
