    For those without jobs

I'll pray but I wouldn't expect much. To be more clear, what is your fiancee's name and what type of job would she like to have?

Can Christian lie for a "good cause"?

So, when your wife asks "Do I look FAT in this?" You should tell her, "Yes. You look fat because you are fat." Hmm, see how well that goes over in your house...

    Yahweh is not "all-loving"

I will go search that out. And yes, Yahweh is said to have said this: 1 Samuel 15 1Samuel also said unto Saul, The LORD sent me to anoint thee to be king over his people, over Israel: now therefore hearken thou unto the voice of the words of the LORD. 2Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I...

    Yahweh is not "all-loving"

Normally, I would agree with your final point. But, how do we reconcile the baby-killing, infanticidal god of Samuel and Numbers, for instance, with the same deity Jesus is said to be and spoke of? Jesus didn't kill babies (I don't think anyway...)

    Yahweh is not "all-loving"

I'm not sure what I'm "copying and pasting"... the scriptures come from my own bible and the other words I'm using are MY OWN. So I'd appreciate you to drop your suspicions and cut another believer a break, thanks. Geez.

    Yahweh is not "all-loving"

That's a thorough response. However, I don't think killing babies is very loving, do you? Chances are you don't. And it's worse yet when you have a god telling humanity to slaughter one another like cattle - especially when they are innocent children and infants. On any other point, I might...

    Yahweh is not "all-loving"

But that's different than God supposedly telling people to kill other people, isn't it?

    Yahweh is not "all-loving"

Posts 93 and 95 were my own, so I'm not sure what you mean. Anyway, as I said, I don't share your calvinistic doctrines, so we will never see eye to eye. I really have no desire to argue with people over the bible. I'm not into bible or holy wars. If it helps you in your life, follow it...

    Yahweh is not "all-loving"

I don't have time right now. If I feel like it, I may respond later. But I have time for this short discussion: How are those actions "sinful"? God told them to kill, just as he did 3000 years ago. He does not change!

    Yahweh is not "all-loving"

I don't know what background you are from, but I don't respect the view of a deity that orders mass infanticide. If you want to, that is up to you. But please keep your views to yourself. It has nothing to do with tradition, as it does a simple reading of the bible. If we want to start making...

    Yahweh is not "all-loving"

You are free to believe whatever you want. It doesn't mean it's correct. As for your beliefs, I can respect that. But you need to understand that your beliefs are just - beliefs. They are not grounded in what the bible actually says about Yahweh. Or, do you believe it is morally 'right' to...

    Yahweh is not "all-loving"

I will answer you when you tell me why you want to worship such a malevolent being that wills the death and destruction of people, particularly babies.

    A discussion on Biblical Love

I don't see any indication that Yahweh loved Job at all. It's not even stated in the entire book anywhere... And judging by his circumstances, Job was certainly not shown love by Yahweh or Satan. Regarding God's sovereignty, this doctrines asserts that ALL that happens is "God's will." It is...

    Yahweh is not "all-loving"

Mmm, I don't know of anyone with a semblance of morality or human compassion who would attempt to justify mass infanticide. In fact, even most Christians vehemently oppose abortion as evil, despite the bible's endorsement of child murder. Kind of ironic, I'd say. Morality, for most people (save...

    Yahweh is not "all-loving"

I suspect the reason why most sensible, moral people who are believers, accept Christianity and God is because many believers for the past 2000 years did not read the bible. In fact, most of them could not read. Most 1st century gentile converts were simply unable to read anything, even if they...
