    Any really good apologetic books?

I have The Last Superstition also, as well a few other books of his. And I also have Pascal's book, though (unfortunately) I have yet to read it....something I need to fix, I realize. As for Chesterton, well, to show how huge of a fan I am of his, I have a blog dedicated to his life and...

    Autobiography recommendations

G.K. Chesterton's Autobiography would be my favorite. :-) I especially love his opening sentence: Bowing down in blind credulity, as is my custom, before mere authority and the tradition of the elders, superstitiously swallowing a story I could not test at the time by experiment or private...

    Favorite book

Orthodoxy and The Everlasting Man by G.K. Chesterton (The latter C.S. Lewis credited as the key contemporary book in his conversion to Christianity. Also, Dean Koontz described reading "Orthodoxy and it had a powerful effect. Then I read The Everlasting Man, which I think was the better of the...

    Christian Biographies

Nice. :) (Sort of describes how Chesterton also got interested in St. Francis). As for his book, yes, it is a very good one. BTW, here are some quotes from it (and other interesting facts):

    The Book That Changed You

I love anything by Feser. It's been a while since I have read Aquinas, but I am looking forward to his new book Five Proofs of the Existence of God.

    The Scarlet Letter

I read The Scarlet Letter a few years ago....I don't remember as much as I should like, but I enjoyed it well enough (except I was kind of disappointed in the ending). Incidentally, here's an interesting article on Nathaniel Hawthorne's daughter.

    The Book That Changed You

Orthodoxy by G.K. Chesterton I was recommended the book by a friend when I was 18, and decided to read it since I knew of how profound an impact another Chesterton book (The Everlasting Man) had played in C.S. Lewis's own conversion to Christianity (As Lewis wrote in Surprised by Joy, "In...

    Good Christian Fiction Books?

If you like mystery stories, you may enjoy the Father Brown stories by G.K. Chesterton. His novel The Man Who Was Thursday is good as well. Also, though I haven't read it, I have also heard good things about the book Eifelheim by Michael Flynn

    Inspirational books

Orthodoxy by G.K. Chesterton. It details his account of how he came to embrace the Christian faith, and moreover is one of his most quotable books, where many famous quotes of his are to be found (such as "Angels can fly because they can take themselves lightly"). Also Life of Christ by Fulton...

Where my George MacDonald fans at?

He also was a huge influence on Chesterton, who wrote an introduction to a book about MacDonald written by MacDonald's son. George MacDonald "...I for one can really testify to a book that has made a difference to my whole existence, which helped me to see things in a certain way from the...

Can You Recommend A Book To Inspire Me?

The self-evident need not be stated, does it? :-) In other words, I think it fairly obvious that all those in the discussion took for granted that the original poster was meaning other than the Bible, a not unreasonable assumption, and hence answered accordingly. That said, certainly you are...

Can You Recommend A Book To Inspire Me?

Admittedly I don't read much poetry. However, one poem I especially love and would recommend is "The Ballad of the White Horse" by G.K. Chesterton. You can read it here, or listen to a Librivox recording of it here. I find it very inspiring, especially this much-quoted passage of it: "I...

Johnny Cash and Collin Raye: Christmas Truce

    What is your favorite book?

The Bible, of course, but apart from that, my favorite book is Orthodoxy by G.K. Chesterton. (Indeed, I love Chesterton's writings in general) As for books not by Chesterton, my favorite is the Life of Christ by Fulton Sheen.
