    Good cheap books on science

I remember ordering a bunch of free science DVD's from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute a while back (and they actually arrived!), and I also believe they have a number of online resources on their website as well. HHMI's BioInteractive

    American History Book Suggestions

Hey all, I'd like to learn a little more about Am history, but I'm not sure where to start (I have no ultimate goal/subject in mind). Does anyone have suggestions for informative books that (most importantly) aren't boring?

Volunteers - I want your opinion of science!

Yup, some of the questions came from the only other masure that's used to study this nationally so I included those items to make sure my replies were roughly the same as theirs. As for the strange-ness and assumptions in some of the items... well, that's why I'm pilot testing them...

Volunteers - I want your opinion of science!

Hey, thanks! Yeah, I noticed that early on but it was already up and running so not much I could do about it. This is actually just a pilot before my real study and I just wanted to develop a better measure than the one (7-item) survey I found out there.

I know from experience that there are little slip ups along the way but it's really good that you went so long without, keep strong!

How do you view your scars?

I used to have a list of funny one-liners to tell people when they asked and I didn't feel like getting serious about it. Wrestling tigers is a good one though. Yeah, my family knows (the adults anyway) but I still tend to wear sleeves around them. Wearing long sleeves is pretty much a habit...

Volunteers - I want your opinion of science!

Hi everyone, I'm a MA student in psychology and I'm trying to develop a questionnaire to assess people's attitudes toward science - positive and negative! If anyone is interested in helping out, it's a pretty short survey and you can get through this link: Attitude Toward Science...

    Any Pratchett fans?

@Hamish That is really interesting. Very sad. Also, I haven't read I Shall Wear Midnight but it'll be interesting to see if I get the same impression as you did.

    Any Pratchett fans?

Yes, Vetineri is one of my favorites as well. He's delightful in Unseen Academicals so far. He's just a brilliant brilliant master of puppets.

    Any Pratchett fans?

I do really like Twoflower, but I think its more people's reactions to him than actually him. You totally reminded me, they turned the colour of magic into a mini-film/2-part series thingee, probably on the BBC (I'm fuzzy on the details because I watched it on netflix). But anyway, I highly...
