Fate of Iraqi Christians will worsen, Catholic experts fear

Fate of Iraqi Christians will worsen, Catholic experts fear

Maybe we should topple their government, for their own good.

Americans are Pro-Life as the recent election shows

...except that it doesn't, or at least not necesarily so. Americans clearly prefered Republicans in this particular election, but not necesarily because they are pro-life. Perhaps even in spite of it. Regardless, there are far too many unnecesarry killings every year in this country for...

    Congratulations America!

Sarah Palin, on the issues that matter to you: Judging by the pic of Putin that you shared, he'd look great in Ms Palin's "I may be broke, but I'm not flat busted" t-shirt.

    Congratulations America!

I don't think much of her either, but calling here a toilet tank isn't really very nice.

Are Catholics about to produce one of the biggest ever swings against Democrats?

It would, if there were such people. There really aren't. Besides, pro-lifers and the Catholic Church agree (though I'm not sure that I do) that it isn't really abortion if you just cut a baby out of it's Mother and set it asside to die, so long as it is required to treat a deadly condition...

Are Catholics about to produce one of the biggest ever swings against Democrats?

Right-on:thumbsup: ....except that most (though certainly not all) Republicans are in favor of legal abortion:( Sure, they'll qualify it with "but only if the woman can find a Doctor who says her life is in danger", but that position is pro-abortion, not pro-life. Sad state of affairs.

    Congratulations America!

Sarah kind of got her butt kicked this go 'round. The candidates she supported most vocally didn't do so hot, and in her home state of Alaska, the candidate she supported looks like they might just be defeated by a write-in candidate.

[2010-09-22] US Bishops: Tax Law Should Support Families

If I believed that, I'd pack up my kids and leave. I don't believe that. My situation is not all that different than yours, but my attitude is. I get something wonderful in return, I get to live in The United States! I fear no foreign armies, for I am protected by what is the strongest military...

Pope Says States Have Right to Defend Borders

..and yes, I support anyone moving their families away from hunger or danger whenever possible, regardless of legal status, skin color or any other nonsence. Life comes first. It trumps the economy every time;) Dangerous people, regardless of immigration status, skin color or whatever, need to...

Fellowship and Best Practice Thread for CCD Teachers

Sounds like you have a good program up there, David. I have been blessed with great students this year (and every year, really). I am struggling a biot with the new format that we've adopted. As a student and a teacher, I prefered the old, "everyone in a classroom, one teacher, eyes...

Pope Benedict lifts excommunication of bishops ordained by Lefebvre in Jan 2009

"Pittsburgh Stealers defeat Arizona Cardinals 27-23 in Super Bowl" probably wouldn't get a lot of looks either. Ditto "Breaking News: Fleetwood Mac tops the charts; album "Rumours" loved, hated by critics"

Pope Says States Have Right to Defend Borders

Sounds awful. I'd do anything to get my family to safety, in whatever direction that safety might lie.

Pope Says States Have Right to Defend Borders

I'm a northerner, and I'll tell you what; find a family in need of any legal status and I open my backyard to them. If it gets real cold, I'll open my house to them. I have tents and the basics of life, ready to provide for them. If you know a needy family, PM me and I'll be happy to make...

Pope Says States Have Right to Defend Borders

Immigration Law in the United States are laws of man, not of God. Governments have a God-given right only to do what respects life, nothing else. Freedom in the Catholic sense is the freedom to do what is right - if a law prevents a parent of hungry children from entering a land where they...

Vote for supporters of abortion never justified, Vatican official says

There is always one. If there isn't, be the one. A wise man onece said that a jouney of something something cost a thousand dollars, or something like that. If you want change in this world, you have to overpay upfront. I'm going to give you a little advice. There's a force in the...
