    Did You Know ???

*Puts grapes on her shopping list* All this time I just thought I was sub average. I now officially announce I suffer from lethologica. I'm not dumb. I just can't speak due to memory loss.

    A seldom heard Christian view

I aplogise if I insulted you. I felt attacked and, not being the christian I should be, responded in kind in my post. Weird really, given we probably agree on more than we disagree as far as blame is concerned.

    A seldom heard Christian view

Please excuse me for dragging up this old thread. I haven't been able to get online for the past few weeks, but was interested in what was said. What you are ignoring is that whilst many developing countries do receive low wages from "western" corporations, they're generally receiving...

Corporal punishment - does it encourage children to be violent?

Personally I think it is a matter of balance. I have no problem with people smacking their kids, but there is a limit. Likewise I have no problem with parents who choose not to smack, so long as they do discipline their children effectively. Should I have children I will most likely smack...

What should you be doing right now?

I find protestors amusing. What's the old method? Edit: This must be the first time in months I should be here. I'm been picked up in an hour and have nothin' else to do.

    A seldom heard Christian view

The funny this is, I don't recall saying I get my opinion from Time magazine. I mentioned I'd seen comments in it from islamic sources who do consider islam to be at . Your posts led me to believe you were anything but well read and educated. I figured Time was something you might be able to...

Please would someone pray for me

I can (and will) help with the former request, but unfortunately not with the photos. I would have no where to hose them.

What should you be doing right now?

I have a 1/2 hour "seminar" due at 5 pm. I've kinda started it. It's kind of lame for me to answer my own question isn't it?

    Favorite Country Gospel Song

I really like Three Wooden Crosses. Which is odd, because as much as I love country I find most Country Gospel lacking. One I can't stand that is currently being played a lot here is "Drugs or Jesus" (I don't know if that is it's name, but it is certainly the theme). Horrible horrible song.

Sure, I was speeding, officer -- I'm insured!

Wow. I'd pay it. Most tickets here come from cameras. I've been done for going 6 km/h over the speed limit. I don't see how the company can expect to make profit by this. Not being able to afford a ticket is really the only thing that keeps my speed at the speed limit rather than 10...

    How many gigabytes?

I just inherited my parents old system. 20 Gigs. I delete. A lot. Every few months I do a complete reformat and start over. It is a hassle, but it is better than no computer at all.

    Any Baptists Who Headcover?

Thank you everyone who answered my question. I've actually just gone and re-read the passages concerned and I can't find where I got the idea it was for married women only. It has been a while since I looked at it. I guess that is the beauty of a fresh look. Now I just have to decide what...

    A seldom heard Christian view

Recent history. You mentioned the prosperity of the West at the expense of others. The world has only seen significant economic growth in the past 200 years. Prior to that we were all dirt poor, with the exception of a minority in the nobles in certain cultures. Really, the more recent...

    A seldom heard Christian view

Please explain to me exactly how Western Governments and corporations to blame? Especially the latter. Given they can do nothing in any country without the governments approval. The Middle East has put it self in the position it is in. It has chosen its govenments, and its governments...

    A seldom heard Christian view

So, muslims in Australia, the US or the UK don't count? I'm curious, how much to you read Moth? I've read a number of such articles in various magazines over the past month. Islam/West relations is a current favourite topic in TIME at the moment (understandably) and they've published...

    Any Baptists Who Headcover?

Question for the few of you who do headcover, if you don't mind. Could folks who don't agree with headcovering, please not answer. Well, qestions rather. I have 2. 1. The women I've known personally who headcover (all 2 of them) did so only during church, bible study and prayer meetings...

    Any Baptists Who Headcover?

I'm considering it. Mainly, because I don't see how else to interpret the relevant verses. What I worry about is that I'm just being religious. I'm not sure why I'm worried about that..

Are Australians apathetic? Maria Korp dies.

That would be more out of necessity. It isn't like they had the option of keeping people alive artificially.

    Had the Flu?

Brissie seems to have missed a flu epidemic this year. I know very few people who've been sick, and it is starting to warm up again.

Are Australians apathetic? Maria Korp dies.

I personally am more comfortable with removing the feeding tube than with keeping people in such states alive, when they have no hope of life. More than anything, I see no reason to keep them alive. We can't cure them. Can we in 20 years? Maybe, but highly unlikely and that isn't good...
