    What is Autism/Asperger’s Syndrome?

I find it incredible that autism can go undetected throughout years into adulthood. I am going to get a referal to see a psychologist this week. I really think I suffer from it aswell.

Sometimes I think my life seems longer from the more I can remember, it frightens me that.

I think that happens to me because my knowing my age becomes something I say on autopilot. I get a laugh out of it, on one hand you answer immediately so you don't look silly, on the other you can get it wrong and look sillier :D

Thanks everyone, I think I was having a mild midlife crisis of sorts. From what I can gather here, it's normal to feel differently about life as you age and your life changes in ways that reflect this, and it's a waste of effort being concerned about things that can't be changed.

Hey, you know the time you were young, thinking all these grown ups, your mum, dad, and their friends, and your friends parents were all old? Then you get to a certain age and you think 'I don't feel any different, what is this oldness supposed to be like'? Then you're in your twenties and...

Our Lord does reveal himself in mysterious ways, and also powerfully.

I think a person who experiences a lot of difficulties might look for better ways. I suppose the context of the quote above revolves around ideas that oppose faith though. If people were responsible for that difficulty then I would try to change to make life easier, the interactions less...

Our Lord does reveal himself in mysterious ways, and also powerfully.

Thankyou Michael, I'm still adjusting a little bit. I'm not used to considering life from God's perspective. I need to straighten out my life and stop drinking so much, then again I'm not sure about that either. Just this morning I was thinking about Genesis and the story of Adam and Eve. I...

I don't know whether I was running away as such more struggling to find proof. It's funny actually, that proof is the one thing I don't think I could handle. On the other hand I don't think I'll feel like I'm running about without a direction anymore. Thankyou, God bless.

Our Lord does reveal himself in mysterious ways, and also powerfully.

I have changed my beliefs so rapidly in the last few days. It has been miraculous to say the least. I first joined CF as an agnostic atheist with the intention of understanding proper conduct (or acceptable conduct) of my own in order to maintain healthy relationships with others of different...

    Difficult talking with theists!!

I understand you mean that it's a sensitive topic between people of different opinions and beliefs. While a nonbeliever wants to feel their independence is respected, so does a theist want their beliefs respected. In the mix of discussing it can seem like a struggle to assert one's own views...

    Difficult talking with theists!!

Ok, I think the reason for this is because occasionally I have the pleasure of being patient with people who have a foul attitude.

What do christians think of atheists?

That's what I'm doing already. You sound very defeatest here. As though it's all over and no effort will improve the situation. If as you say that God wants me to KNOW him and to let me choose to do so, why with all the power he's meant to possess can't he let me know he's there himself? I...

What do christians think of atheists?

My take on this is that he hasn't made it clear to me personally. If God personally told me (somehow, but in a real way) to do something and then I didn't; I can imagine God feeling as though he were denied something, possibly that he should expect from me. This sounds like you're saying God...

What do christians think of atheists?

Partly I would feel crazy if I did that for the sake of it, partly I wouldn't like the social ramifications of accepting it either. I could simply say that I believe in it, I don't think this is actually going to affect my beliefs or not though. So in a way to say I believe is in my opinion...

What do christians think of atheists?

The nets good like that. Between secular humanism and Christianity, I think many of the moral priciples and values would be shared. The main differences would be around faith in God, and of acceptance of different views - beliefs. Secular humanism have large not for profit organisations which...
