    Global warming: punishment for sins?

Just curious what you all think of the idea that global warming is punishment for our sin of neglecting the environment. Whether you interpret that literally or metaphorically, I think it rings true. With all this heat lately, i can't help but wonder if it is a way of God telling/warning us to stop.

Many years to our newly illumined brother in Christ, Joseph and his family! :liturgy: I figured since he was chrismated on the same day that I was (Sunday after Pentecost), and shares the same patron saint as I (St. Joseph the Betrothed), that it is my responsibility to give a shout out...

    Orthodoxy and "being real"

Ok, so i've been Orthodox for about a year now, and have been in the church off and on for about 3. Someone said something today that struck me as true. In essence, it was this: Orthodox people they know are real, not fake. They don't put on a face. So what do you all think about this...

    Daily Vespers broadcast?

Anyone know of anywhere that broadcasts (at least audio) of daily vespers or other prayer services on a daily basis? I know places that do DL on Sundays, but it would be really nice to have daily prayer broadcasts for those who aren't able to make it to vespers on a consistent basis.

    Bach's Mass in B Minor

Hi folks  I'm wondering if anyone knows if masses are ever performed anymore using those composed by Bach (or perhaps another classical composer?) I have seen several recordings of his pieces, but never within the context of the mass itself. So I guess my question is, are these still...

Just thought i'd make a thread for those who sing in their church choir to talk about "choir stuff". So first of all, who's in the choir, and what part do you sing? What do you like about it? What don't you like about it? Any other general discussion related to choir is welcome!

    Observe Sabbath?

I listened to a podcast by Fr. Hopko last night, and he said that as Orthodox Christians, we haven't abolished nor moved the Sabbath, and still should observe it on Saturday.
