    Linux for Baptists

I think it can be as good, but you have to know command line, so that really does take away from it.

    Linux for Baptists

I personally dig Ubuntu Linux alot... and Knoppix is great for recovery when Windows goes belly up. Either way, I'm a fan of both Linux and Windows... if that is possible.

    +1 for that one! ^_^

Why is conservative a dirty word?

You make a very good point. I am a student of history (got my master's in it) and I am with you. Most folks don't look back and see the error of those in the past. Kinda sad and scary, isn't it?

    Can true Christians sin?

Do Christians sin? Well, my name is not Jesus Christ, so yes... I sin.

Why is conservative a dirty word?

I think that is a known fact. Truthfully, poor policies that have been destructive to our country go all the way back to Andrew Jackson. He was a piece of work and a flaming liberal.

    Can true Christians sin?

Absolutely. All men sin and fall short of the glory of God. If we became sinless, wouldn't that put us on the same level as Jesus? I have read the previous thread and understand why this one is here, but this question is almost absurd.

Why is conservative a dirty word?

Very true! As a student of American history, it is obvious that changes in how we are governed that are considered progressive don't always help. For example, there is statistical proof that after the creation of Medicare in the '60's, that the amount of pro-bono work by physicians came to a...

    Spurgeon or Graham

I think there is some good in Graham's writings, but I don't believe they were ever meant to be taken in the same vain as Spurgeon, so I'll swing my vote to him.

    Gender Neutral/Accurate

I have to say thumbs down to the gender neutral bibles. When we are willing to change the original language, we open the door to changing everything. Gender neutral = leftist ideal.

    Merry Christmas From Dixie Everybody!

Merry Christmas! I'm in 'Bama, but I still love this song! Come on weather man give us a forecast snowy white Can't you hear the prayers of every childlike heart tonight Rockies are callin', Denver snow fallin' Somebody said it's four feet deep, but it doesn't matter Give me the laughter, I'm...

What are your views on contemporary music in church?

I've attended both and enjoy both. I've also seen genuine worship in both. It is a to 'each his own' kind of thing. Not all people who go for traditional music are 'old-fashioned' and not all who go for contemporary are an 'audience'. If you are genuinely worshiping God, it does not matter. Most...

2ducklow... we get your point that you are not a trinitarian... what else do you want? Also, let me throw this out at you... Then God said,"Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the...

    Thoughts on reporting people

Many times I do feel that the discussion between (mostly) civil Christians on here do get shut down far too quickly. Spam and outsiders... not a problem. However, debate is healthy and it is sad that we cannot police ourselves in most instances. Trust me, it keeps me out of many conversations on CF.
