    So...anything interesting happening? Or happened?

Hey, CM. What's new in your neck of the woods?

    Are all Jews Zionists?

You just need to look at their arguments to see that they are wrong. Compare the arguments of the anti-Zionists to the arguments of those who support the State of Israel and the need for a refuge for the Jewish people, and you’ll see which side is right. I’m not suggesting that the State of...

Former atheist Howard Storm asks about holocaust during his NDE?!

Perhaps real life after death is less judgy and negative than you would want people to think? (Or, perhaps it's all in our brains!)

Are all the passages claiming relationship to Messiah, true?

And you think that I would be interested in furthering the Orthodox monopoly on the halachah? I don't think so.

Are all the passages claiming relationship to Messiah, true?

"Trumps" it? No. That would suggest that Orthodoxy is correct on the merit of it being Orthodoxy. No, no, no. The position of Orthodoxy is correct because it interprets the texts accurately, not because it trumps some other position. If another group interpreted it better, they would have the...

John 1:1 according to the Messianic Faith

If it's based on a bad understanding of biblical languages, it's got a bad foundation.

Are all the passages claiming relationship to Messiah, true?

Isaiah 53 is not forbidden by anyone. It is misunderstood and poorly interpreted by most. This passage should be called "the misunderstood chapter" (הפרק הלא מובן).

John 1:1 according to the Messianic Faith

    No, I don't see a disconnect - or a "connect" either. I think you're writing nonsense.

John 1:1 according to the Messianic Faith

τῶν νεκρῶν is genitive plural. I don't know where you got this idea that "the rules were made later," but it's absurd. Nothing else to say on that issue.

John 1:1 according to the Messianic Faith

It doesn't say that God is living. It says that he is God OF the living. This is the difference between νεκρός and νεκρῶν, and between ζῶν and ζώντων. I don't know where you learned Greek, but you're making some serious mistakes.

John 1:1 according to the Messianic Faith

That's saying that the genitive in the conveniently-omitted phrase (ὁ θεὸς τοῦ πατρός σου) doesn't show us precisely what the phrase meant. It's simply the case that many transliterated names from other languages (not just Hebrew) into Greek are indeclinable. We have to assume, in this case...

Name the prophecies in the Old Testament about Yeshua

Granting prophecy as a true phenomenon, I would still come to opposite conclusions. ;)

Are all the passages claiming relationship to Messiah, true?

"Father of" (אֲבִי) can mean "possessing" in the same way that "son of" (בֵּן \ בַּר) can mean "belonging to" or "participant in" and "husband of" (בַּעַל) can mean "possessing." A ben brit is not the "son" of a covenant. It means "one who participates in a treaty, an ally." A baal nisayon rav...

Are all the passages claiming relationship to Messiah, true?

I never understand this argument that “a gloss I learned was X, therefore this word means X in every context.” That's nonsense. עד can certainly mean “a long time” without meaning “forever.” Do you not know that it can also be a preposition meaning “until” or “as long as”? Context determines...

Are all the passages claiming relationship to Messiah, true?

Where do you see in this text that Hezekiah was already 39 years old? Where do you see any passage of time between chapters 7 and 9? Where did you get this number? A fair point that sometimes the perfect can be used in a way of saying that something has been decided to happen and will -...

    Who among us are....

"Hebraic script"? There's nothing more Hebraic about Mikha'el vs. Michael. It's the same. Hebraic is מיכאל.

Are all the passages claiming relationship to Messiah, true?

The name that he would receive actually represents parts of Hezekiah's life: "A wonderful counselor [is] the Mighty God" - That he would seek the counsel of God and trust in his oracles. "Father of perpetuity" - That God extended his life by fifteen years and gave him a full life. "Peaceful...

Are all the passages claiming relationship to Messiah, true?

You're absolutely right about the reference. I don't know what made me think he was writing about chapter 7. I think it was the placing of the seven in parentheses or something that made me think he was talking first about Isaiah 7 and then about Isaiah 9, as if they were talking about the same...

Are all the passages claiming relationship to Messiah, true?

I was talking about Isaiah 7, not Isaiah 9. These are two different passages. Chapter 7 is an unnamed child, except that he was called Immanuel and perhaps Maher-Shalal-Hash-Baz. Chapter 9 is apparently about Hezekiah.

Are all the passages claiming relationship to Messiah, true?

Orthodoxy interprets this passage as referring to a baby born just after the prophecy was delivered. It is not interpreted to refer to anyone at any future time. It is interpreted to refer to something that happened within the lifetime of Ahaz.
