    American Idol

I can hear music very well with my hearing aids, but I do have "pitch problems" (tm AI judges) and can't always hear everything that is said/sung. On that note, CC is a good way to learn the lyrics of different songs. Try it sometime!

    Totus Tuus sum Maria

How right you are. I guess that was kind of my point, but I sure didn't make it very clear.

    Totus Tuus sum Maria

Actually, the gospels do mention blessing the bread before breaking it, but it is interesting how some say "He blessed it", while others say "after giving thanks". That tells me you can do either.

    ELCA Question

Thanks so much, that does help! I know all the Lutheran churches around here have wonderful preschools and that is how they get a lot of people "in the door". BTW: I grew up in a Presbyterian Church, so I am very familiar with the "frozen chosen" ;)

    ELCA Question

Hello- I belong to a non-denom evangelical church and attended an ELCA for a while before that (loved it, but moved!). Anyhow, what are the differences, besides the sacraments? Is evangelism a focus of ELCA? I'm just curious. I will visit the ELCA website, too. Just want your take...

    Why isn't Bush a Catholic?

Because someone else writes his speeches for him. and perhaps that person is Catholic? Bush is no evangelical either, although he speaks like one. This is not a flame on him at all, as I voted for him (and am an evangelical). But what do I know--he may convert after he leaves office...

    Just a little advice...

If you check out the Baptist board, you will notice that your brothers and sisters there are also ready to take up arms against those who proclaim anti-Catholic sentiment during this time in GT and elsewhere. God bless you all in your time of mourning.

    Know any "secular" christian bands.

Well, I know that Steven Tyler has thanked God with a capital G several times in interviews, etc. He also has said regarding his 20 years of sobriety "Letting go and letting God really does help." Not sure if that qualifies him as a Christian, but at least he's headed in the right direction.

    Walk to Emmaus?

Hello- I was wondering if any of you have ever been on the Walk to Emmaus? A Methodist friend of mine has been pushing me to go for years, yet it sounds like it is much like the Catholic Stations of the Cross. I'd love to know what you experienced. Thanks!@!

    Kneeling

I go to a non-denom and we do occasionally kneel to pray, especially when we pray "over" someone or something that needs "extra" prayer. Hope that helps! ETA: Probably the reason we don't do it more often is the absence of kneelers and the hard floor!!

    Angie Harmon on The View

Did anyone see Angie Harmon on The View this morning? She said how blessed she was to have travelled all over the world, etc., and that her faith was very important to her. Apparently, she went to a Christian school growing up and she wants to instill those values the daughter that she has...

    Rich Mullins

And besides all that Bleechers said, what could anyone actually DO for God? The answer is NOTHING. He is all, has all, can do all (sorry, not biblical--just my words). Someone tell me--what could you actually do for God that He can't do himself?
