Paul wrote about the age old battle of evil versus good (Ephesians 6:12). It is taking place in society but, sadly, also in the Church. The influence of evil makes some want to see business owners punished for not participating in same sex weddings, the same ones who wanted to deny justice for...

It would be foolish to categorically state how the Federal High Court would find in such a case - many were surprised by the unanimous 7-0 finding in favour of Cardinal Pell. Cases are often decided on what is considered "reasonable" and on that basis I believe a test case would fail. I would...

States have different laws. Queensland banned aversion therapy but did not try to prohibit conversation & prayer responses to people with unwanted same sex attraction. As we know, it is impossible to prove a negative, so it is impossible to prove no one has ever changed - we can only assess...

Ephesians 4 9 Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, and they are full of greed. 20 That, however, is not the way of life you learned 21 when you heard about Christ and were taught in him in accordance with the...

The question "So you are calling Jacinta Price a racist?" is in context of the ABC calling JP a racist - a lot of prestigious people thinks she is so you would have plenty of company - a bit different to the scenario you painted.

I did not say you thought Jacinta Price was a racist - I asked the question - it's a good idea to check the punctuation as well as the words my impulsive friend. Still waiting for the false statements you referred to in that previous post.

There was no embellishment - those things are crucial aspects of the situation - if anything it was 'under-embellishment' - this has been a long thread and it should be safe to assume people will read up some of the previous comments to get the context of what is being said.

I am an evangelical Christian so that is my main focus, but I know Catholics who will be affected by this law also - not so much the Uniting Church (Methodist, etc) or Anglican who tend to support the law. Evangelicals believe the Biblical understanding of sexuality - we also believe that we...

which is what I said - what you don't approve of should be banned no matter what some people with SSA might want Disingenuous. God has placed people in the Church with helping skills and they are placed there to support a person who wants to pursue goals related to change or suppression.

This has been a long thread so we're not going into detail on what has been covered before - but if a pastor counsels a person that the Bible teaches homosexuality is sinful and that, with God's help, they should try to suppress their SSA, the law will be triggered.

Well, evangelical pastors who believe God can change people could be sent to prison for a maximum of 10 years - I think that might qualify as persecution.
