    Iran Launches Attack on Israel

This was before the Israeli response really caused major death and devastation. https://www.adl.org/resources/blog/support-hamas-terror-anti-israel-rallies-across-us Somehow, I just don’t think the Evangelical Christians are responsible for most anti Semitism in the US...

Q:How can I use the Bible to focus my mind?

There are probably many places we can do this in a Christian way. What I mean is according to the Lord’s commandments (Matthew 22:36-40 etc.) in prayer for the daily well being and salvation of our neighbor ( 1 Timothy 2:1-6), for evangelism ( Matthew 9:36-38) in that we would want others to be...

    Iran Launches Attack on Israel

It would be good to investigate how many individuals Hamas recruits for canon fodder, how many civilians they have put in harms way for public relations also. I am not rooting for any side in this mess although I think the left roots for Hamas more so & treacherously than what they accuse...

    Iran Launches Attack on Israel

No, it seems the US probably looks the other way in that Israel is understood as being purely defensive whereas their enemies want to annihilate them ( which is Iran’s official policy).

The mystery of the missing binder: How a collection of raw Russian intelligence on election interference disappeared

Putin and his cronies allegedly secretly celebrated Trump’s 2016 victory? They seemed pretty obvious about how they felt: https://www.cbsnews.com/amp/news/donald-trump-celebrated-russia-vladimir-putin-nato-europe-allies-anxious/ Proves nothing.

The mystery of the missing binder: How a collection of raw Russian intelligence on election interference disappeared

Around and around it goes and Putin was on the march before Trump & resumed after Trump. The clicker clackers insist on the Trump collusion myth & ignore earlier reports that confirm what is said in post #24...

Are Eastern Catholics and traditional Catholics Orthodox in denial [CONTROVERSIAL]

From what understand, the Filioque was at best tolerated in the Eastern Churches. In 1054, it seems like Latin Cardinal Humbert used the Filioque ( among many other things) in his false excommunication of the Orthodox. From this, theological breakdown was complete. While I believe what I posted...

Are Eastern Catholics and traditional Catholics Orthodox in denial [CONTROVERSIAL]

It is just a matter of posture for everyone facing God the same way as we worship Him. We have houses of worship going back to Solomon who built the temple fulfilling the wishes of his father David. In 1 Kings 8:1-66 we have our liturgical worship inside a fixed structure. The previous...

Are Eastern Catholics and traditional Catholics Orthodox in denial [CONTROVERSIAL]

I am just affirming my basic understanding of how to worship with Orthodoxy and I have no criticism of how Catholics worship ( or most Protestants either). I don’t necessarily agree but I also believe there is still salvation within your confession. I would have deep concerns over such...

Are Eastern Catholics and traditional Catholics Orthodox in denial [CONTROVERSIAL]

When we all face the altar, are we not all facing God? Sure the priest must face us for the homily etc. but shouldn’t we all be facing God like during the Lord’s Prayer?

    Burn her!

The views of witches during the Lord’s time were actually complicated. I am pasting a post I made a couple years back on this: There seem to have been various perceptions of witches or even what was a witch. Josephus’ account of Exodus 22:18 indicates capital punishment for an individual...

If you think that the sons of God in Gen 6:2 were angels and wish to wager on it,

I will always be confused as to what in particular Genesis 6:2 is referring as far as angels & mortals. One thing I do believe is that it seems to try to explain that there is a corruption of our created being as a species. I believe we should give this attention as to what we see around us...

    Old Believers

They suffered sporadic persecutions for centuries. Katherine the Great ended persecutions in her reign but it revived later on. Government oppression could vary from relatively moderate, as under Peter the Great(reigned 1682–1725) (Old Believers had to pay double taxation and a separate tax...

What are some unique doctrines that a denomination holds that makes them distinct from others?

Yes, thank you and I should have mentioned this particular. I actually have a tendency to take it for granted that they are Orthodox. I understand the matters of formal communion between our churches of course.

Armenian Orthodox Bible and Testaments of the 12 Patriarchs

I know these testaments attributed to the sons of Jacob were in the 17th century Armenian Bible ( Oskan translation). I have looked online but cannot tell if they are still in the Armenian Bible. These writings are rich in moral instruction for healthy living by faith and have Messianic...

What are some unique doctrines that a denomination holds that makes them distinct from others?

In Orthodoxy our doctrine of the Holy Trinity is the same as the Western Churches. Except that we strictly hold that the Holy Spirit proceeds exclusively from the Father per John 15:26. Most other Christians profess that the Holy Spirit proceeds from the Father and the Son. While I believe...

    Old Believers

From what I recall they are hung up on how to make the sign of the Cross. They seemed deeply mistaken on a technicality but they were also shabbily treated for it. Basically they are insular, harmless farmers ( usually).

    The 1 John test.

I believe 1 John is a faith commitment in living by faith in which we are to keep the Lord’s commandments. The commandments that are within the overall commandment to love God & neighbor. The apostle tells us to love our neighbor but not this fallen world. Much of this is covered in 1 John 2:1-29.
