You are probably correct but it only reflects the sense of superiority that some Christians feel.

The current teaching ignores the fact that the tree was of the knowledge of good AND evil. Then we also act as if the pair disobeyed God when it is clear that the women was tricked into doubting the word of her husband. Every significant detail of the story is ignored by our interpretations.

Cimbk, our theology says that the consequences of 'good' are different from the consequences of 'evil.' The text clearly teaches that the consequences are the same for both.

You are throwing out the parts of the story that don't fit your interpretation. The result is that you miss the real message of the story.

You missed the point. That precaution would not have been necessary if they were under a sentence of death.

That's like saying that the governor signs the death warrant but the warden does not execute the prisoner because the prisoner becomes his friend. That boat does not float. We are dodging.

If all animals were herbivores how did they get teeth designed to tear meat and digestive systems for digesting animal protein?

How does spiritual death feel? Well, spirits don't have nervous systems so it can't feel in any particular way. No one is trying to interpret the text. The goal is only to explain what is already believed.
