    Ah, see ya..

Thanks ann, but I really do think it's for the best. I feel maybe God is leading me elsewhere. May you have all the blessings God has to offer, and my prayers are with you!

    i dont understand...(may cause spike)

Caty, that's not what I was trying to say. The "hard truth" is that we either have OCD or we don't, that's all I was trying to get across. That's not some big reveal from God via me to you, just a sinner trying to help, but obviously, I did more harm than good.

    Ah, see ya..

Thanks, Rachel, I really appreciate your feelings and I've thought a lot about it considering how long we've known each other. I want you to know I consider you a personal friend and someone I care about a lot. I want nothing more than to see you recovered and living a life free of OCD...

    i dont understand...(may cause spike)

I have deleted that portion of my post, as to not cause any further suffering.

    Ah, see ya..

Thanks for the kind words, but I feel my time here may be done. I have been feeling this way for a while so I think this is my opportunity to let go.

    Ah, see ya..

I'm sorry you were scared. That was not my intent.

    Ah, see ya..

Going to take a vacation with seajoy and bid adieu. I have not voiced my frustrations....really ever, but it's getting to the point a lot lately where I'm asking myself why I'm bothering responding. And I don't think that does me or the poster any good. I'm sorry that everyone is suffering. I...

    Re. Therapy

Yes I agree with Kaykay, OCD makes it easy to get worked up about stuff, especially "imperfect" things. Can't tell you how many times that if my husband disagreed with me on something doctrinally or politically I'd start to panic! lol! Must make it hard for him to live up to my standards, huh...

    Re. Therapy

Is any one of us a perfect Christian? Do any of us follow Christ perfectly all of the time? Have any of us ever sinned or struggled with sin? Have any of us ever done something that doesn't reflect Christ? I would venture yes. No therapist is perfect, even a Christian therapist. I worked...

    "obsessed" on A&E

Just a reminder, this is on tonight! They are featuring someone with harm obsessions and someone with a hand/sound obsession. I just gotta note, my husband rocks. He's sitting here watching it with me, trying to understand what the heck goes through my mind. He just got a glimpse of the harm...

Anybody else been told this by a doc?

What an asinine thing to suggest! I was a Christian long before I had OCD, and OCD two years before I started with the religious obsessions. Lots of non-Christians have OCD as well, how does she explain that? How ignorant of your doctor! Is this your therapist or your general doctor? If it is...

the "Offical" Encouragment/Inspiration Thread: Join us and Post!

Love this devotional from Jeremy Camp. I'm sure most of us have heard his "There will be a day" song that is popular right now... every time I hear it, I am just reminded that one day, there will be a day without OCD. I can't wait for that day. YouTube - Jeremy Camp - There Will Be A Day -...

    Feeling really anxious and sad

I don't quite know if "repressed feelings" come out as anxiety. To me that sounds like some pop-psychology, can you imagine if a gay spiker read that? lol - repressed feelings of being gay coming out as anxiety... I guess it can happen but I think the difference between someone who is really...

    a goodbye

Seajoy, you know I am on your side! I too feel you have taken some undeserved heat and I don't know why...countless number of OCD sufferers have recovered by using ERP/CBT therapy and meds. But everyone moves towards recovery at their own pace, and sadly, some will never get there and continue...

    "obsessed" on A&E

I was a little worried about how they would portray people with OCD, but they did a VERY good job. At the end of this particular episode, the OCD sufferer with contamination fears talked about how people like to make fun of it, how it's funny in movies, but the reality is, it's a very painful...

    "obsessed" on A&E

Hey all U.S. folks - a new reality show about OCD sufferers is on A&E on Monday nights. The show follows two OCD sufferers (different ones each week) and their struggles and progress in therapy. This week was pretty classic OCD... germaphobe and checking locks/fear of driving. You may be able to...

    Feeling really anxious and sad

Aren't all obsessions a little rooted in reality? I mean, it's very realistic that my marriage isn't perfect - no marriage is. And it's very realistic that my relationship with Christ isn't perfect - no relationship is (on my end, not His!) But I know what you are asking. If we had a fight or...

    Feeling really anxious and sad

I am not sure anyone here could say with full 100% confidence and NO DOUBT that they believe their problems are related to OCD. Otherwise we wouldn't have OCD. We'd convince ourselves it's OCD and we wouldn't be anxious about it anymore, you know? Don't get too worried if you find yourself...
