    Question about Latin Catholic hymn.

I didn't know where else to ask. In the Salve Regina, the text reads: "Salve, Regina, Mater misericordiae." Why is it then that I have come across recordings that leave out "Mater"? With: Salve Regina - YouTube Without: Chant of the Templars - Salve Regina (final part) - YouTube Thanks! :)

    The Hermitage of Holy Cross

I know one other member on this forum goes there often but I'm wondering if anyone knows the text of the Salve Regina that they use? I haven't been able to find their translation anywhere and I haven't done the best job at piecing it together from memory. Can anyone here provide me with the...

Does any one here know anything about him specifically? YouTube - The...

    What do these mean?

I often hear Protestants talking about how we need to accept Christ as our "personal savior" and that we need to have a "personal relationship" with Him. Now, when I hear these being said I almost cringe. They don't sound right. They seem to be drawn from a purely individualistic nature that is...

Israel threatens to cut off water supply to Church of the Holy Sepulcher

For nearly a century, various governments in the Holy Land gave free water to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher and pilgrims as a sign of courtesy. Now the Jerusalem Municipality also wants it to pay for past consumption of water. Confusion and concern among the Christian Churches: we agreement...

    Taking a break

Well, with Lent coming up, I want to try to spend less of my time on the computer so I am going to go take a break from the forums for a while and probably won't return until after Bright Week. May us all bear fruits of repentance in preparation for Christ's glorious Resurrection. Forgive me...

    Concerns over ecumenism and confusion

This is a slight rant which I feel I need to get out. As many have probably noticed with some of the posts I make here that I am no fan of ecumenism. I have a lot of confusion coming from it though. I see ecumenism as a betrayal of the Orthodox Faith (especially the ecumenist spirit of the...

Here is a nice little video I came across today about Coptic monasticism and it interviews Fr. Lazarus El Anthony who is a hermit who lives up on Mount Colzim in a cave near St. Anthony's Monastery in the deserts of Egypt. A few months ago I posted the episode of the Extreme Pilgrim BBC show...
