I have had several experiences similar to yours. I have woken up in the middle of the night and I would begin to project above around my room out of my control. I would spin all around and then I will just think of the word Demon ( or think about demons in general) , and I hear this demonic cry...

Satan could somewhat be considered the nature of man. The evil, and instinct within us all. But satan is another name Lucifer the Archangel. The first to defy God. He would only be a "being" and a spiritual form I would imagine.
